Description Incendia Beta 0.1

This will probably end up in my scraps later. I'm playing with *Aexion 's brand new 3D fractal program, INCENDIA, and wanted to post my first render with it for feedback/tips/fun. I think I messed up the render/light/fog settings. I'm a complete noob with this program (haven't even really worked with any 3D fractals before) so I have a lot to work on.

I think a lot of these renders could be useful as stock in photomanips, weird matte paintings, stuff like that.

So far I am really enjoying this program! If you send *Aexion a note he will let you try it.

Thanks! I will definitely be doing more with Incendia. I just downloaded UF5 so I'll probably have some stuff coming out of that soon, I'll just have to wait for my payment to clear before I can render anything with it.

that would look good if it was rotated forward or backward a bit...

also using material / render #'s you can give baseshapes different / custom colors...

it is a fun program to play with

This was beta 0 so I don't have parameters to make any changes and render again. I actually used 3 different materials on the baseshapes in this one, but 2 of them (on the blocks) are very similar. Any changes you make to the Material variables on the Render tab affect all of the materials on your baseshapes globally but I think it could be a good suggestion to *Aexion to make some of them specific to the material you're working on, if it would be possible to implement. Some of them would probably be pretty useful. (different specular variables would probably be good to make some shiny/dull looking surfaces for example) Thanks for feedback, I appreciate it.

No what I was talking about is on the material check boxes in the base shape...

you can set each base shape to material 1-0 and that subsequent number matches up in the Render tab...

where you have the arrow keys you can select under save bitmap...

that allows you to pick textures for each different material

let me know if that makes better sense...

I understood what you meant. I used 3 different texture combinations for the baseshapes in this one. There is one material for the round swirly shape and two others on the blocks.

Thank you I haven't tried any 3D fractal app other than playing with a few UF raytracing formulae. I am really impressed with how easy it is for even a complete beginner to get some attractive results out of Incendia. I'm downloading the free trial of Xenodream to see how it compares but at $120 I'm not sure that I'd buy it.

agreed... I am playing with an old version I picked up on the black market a few years ago,,,,,

UF5 on the other hand... Lapped it up the minute I saw the nite in my inbox. Worth every cent once again it seems.... I had it hang twice in Parallels for Mac yesterday but at lest I can work with it... The new features are exactly what I had been asking for Now more photoshop-like and intuotive too

Whih formula is the raytrace incidentally? Worth a look....

There are a lot of raytrace formulae, reb.ucl/ufm is a good place to start iirc.
