Talk about a guy who has a BAD look to him. He's like a swashbuckling pirate Rambo, right?I pulled this design offa Dave Johnson's redesign that he did for Slade a few years back. Sleek and too the point. Never understood the bullet belt on a guy who uses pistols, a staff, and a sword as his 'trademark' weapons. Also in recent years, he's gotten a bigger build, no sense at all! So I boiled him down to the basics.
An athletic guy with military smarts: Flack vest, throat guard, shoulder protection, an across the shoulder strap for his staff and sword and a knife in front. Pistol on his thigh. Anything else can be added but this would get him in and out, no probs.

And thus, is one of the best renditions of my favorite comic book villain(Or anti-hero, depending on the situation really). I agree, he was cool but there were some things that just lacked in practicality. Good on ya bro!

you've got so much good work in your gallery but right now i'm loving this piece i was so into Young Justice and among other things they did Deathstroke right.

Very cool Deathstroke. Maybe a tad too lean? Maybe. But I highly prefer this over the overly muscle bound one. The pirate garb is kind of old now. Its like Taskmaster. Same artist made them with a pirate theme. Not my cup of tea despite them being badass characters. The outfit that Taskmaster wore for a while about 10 years ago with Agent X was actually a nice change up. Totally suggest you google it to see what I mean. I feel your redesign along with that one fit the same general theme of being awesome, recognizable and practical.

Agreed. Sometimes I think Marvel just forgets they redesign characters...shrugs...and basically chalks it up as "a phase." And the sad thing is that they could have hybrid-ed both concepts and made it work.
