Description
You know I've tried like several times to figure out an appropriate "MY" version of PG in this age of redesigns and the making of sense of things. If you've followed this acct for a while, I have a LOT of redesigns for her. This latest one is built off my last try and I think it really came out really well. This version is as far away from any type of "Super" connection, which I think she would want as a character (to forge out her own way without being directly tied to her origin or her psudo-cousin). I struggled with the blue strip in the body, but in the end chose blue insead of leaving it white.Pretty proud of this one, folks.

Glad I stumbled onto your redesigns, they're fantastic. I like that they have a New Gods/Kirby vibe but with modern materials.

Why don't they use this kind of uniform for New 52?!

Thanks. She's still a tough nut to crack. I've got a newer version (as I like to revisit her often)

I think the light blue color scheme design on her costume was a good move!

Thanks a lot. The lighter blue vs. the superman blue, its a tough flip of the coin, really.

Thanks! I'm still retooling her. Think this version is as close to happy as I could be (at the time), but now looking at it, its a bit too busy. Need to make it more universally easier for people to draw.

I REALLY like this design. I don't immediately get "Power Girl" from it, but you weren't intending to have it be connected to previous designs, so that's fine. Lots of really cool choices here.
Any chance I could get you to take a crack at one of my characters? Your design style is very much in line with my idea for her style, and I've got some sketches... I'd just love to see her worked up the way you do these.

Ideally I would really like a very SCI-FI driven PG, and thats how I approached it this time around. If its now established that there are these Kryptonian nanite suits that can do stuff, why not lean further to the 'alien' tech sides of thing. I pulled from anime and sci-fi films to pull this together and then twisted towards superhero.
And I wouldn't mind (if I can squeeze the time) to work on something for you. Send me some details, I can at least sketch somethings.

In previous versions, I had these long 2/3rds gauntlets, and in the end thought the smaller gloves made more sense to her. At least in this version.
Thanks!

Great design, but where did her breasts go? I know she was expanded and expanded by Wally Wood to see how much fan service he get could away with, but if you ask a woman if she'd like her boobs cut off, personallyΒ I think they'd be against being mutilated. I don't even care if peopleΒ cover her up or remove the boob window I think that's actually very cool, but transforming her into a crossfit body type from her traditional hourglass figure gets away from canon for me. It'd be like casting a six foot two inch Australian for the role of a five foot three inch Canadian.

Actually women will sometimes go for breast reduction surgery.Β A friend of mine and her sister both went for it in college.Β Granted, Power Girl probably doesn't have to worry about back pain like they did, but still, breasts can be too big for practicality or comfort.

Considering she's nearly invulnerable I'd be curious how they could even do breast reduction surgery. Would it be with a Kryptonite scapel?

lol....as much as I would LOVE PG to be the breadbasket of america farm girl, I also would like to think there's room for an extreme crossfit version of her, which is another reason why I kinda wished that DC flipped the two characters and made Supergirl the older and PG the younger. It would have (I think) made better drama.

Fair enough. I almost think at this point they should just be twins or one is a clone (ala Justice league) or something. They're different characters at this point even though somehow one is supposed to become the other. Personally I can't see a bombshell doing crossfit and risk losing her curves/bodyfat. It does make more sense for Supergirl/woman to be the older version as she has it more together maturity-wise whereas PG always seems to be suffering angst related to her identity.

Yeah, between the age gap or making them twins, they just don't seem to work their way out of their bubbles. Its always kinda the same thing with each reboot.

Its a hard balance between classic and modern. How does one twist a classic look to make it look like they're not running around literally in tight? It always bothered me that 'alien' species play down to everyone. BE SCI-FI! BE ADVANCE! BE AMAZING looking, its the evolution of art
