Here’s a character that ROYALLY screwed in Avengers vs. X-Men. Someone who ACTUALLY had the Phoenix Force and survived. It was almost like Marvel chose to completely ignore Rachel and make a new character in Hope. She, like a lot of characters, seems to be a victim of mis-management and I think she’s now a teacher in Wolverine & the X-Men. I guess thats good to be seen every so issue.And that’s too bad, I like Rachel. She’s fairly an interesting character. I merged both Mark Brooks version and Kris Anka (there’s going to be a lot of Anka merging) and this came out. Its okay but after I got done with it, it looks like Rachel’s a character from Neon Evangelist. *shrugs*

AvX was terrible, not in the least because the Avengers are blithely taking back Wanda, who was directly responsible for countless deaths via M-Day, something for which she is just as blithely unappologetic for.
On a more positive note, you redesigns are consistantly stunning.

Yesss, AvX just seemed to give reasons for some (not all) characters to having some character development. Too bad that it was at the expense of everyone else. And that nothing really came out of it that really affected the MU at all......oh except a new Avengers Title. Silly me

I adore Rachel and yes, she was royally screwed. Rachel will always be my Phoenix. I think the only problem with this look is it's over designed. The trench needs to go for sure. Maybe made into a shorter jacket. I like the return of the spikes. When you look back at the way her character was developed with Claremont and Davis, Rachel had that form fitting simplistic edge to all of her looks. She was sleek and fierce. Even when she was out of costume, the singularity of color she wore always made her look like she was in costume.

Agreed. It'll be interesting to see with the new X-Men title if they decide to switch her up again.
