Description This is the highly-anticipated (yeah right) reload animation of the Kriss Vector model I made in Blender 3D (V 2.62). Took about 1 hour to make and fix.

I think this is my best one yet. I think the camera movement, the fact that there is a room, and the Blender Render lighting update really helps make it look better. And the fact that i'm getting better.

Sorry guys, no organic hands today. harder than I thought to make and rig them.

This video converter is ticking me off. The quality is much lower than the original and it adds that stupid watermark! I'm going to start looking for another one.

Enjoy!

Wonderful animation! But I feel like he reloads like me at the range; no sense of urgency.

haha. It does look like that doesn't it? It was made quickly. Had college to tend to.

try blueberry recorder free version available does great quality no watermarks. Ih and great anim and model btw, I just started 3d modeling in blender and the imporvement just from 2.49 to 2.62 are ridiculous. I put up some models so check'em out and lemme know what ya think.

For just starting these are amazing! Keep up the good work! Have you worked in any previous 3D modeling programs?

Thanks. No, blender is what I started with I first started blender in '08 but never modeled. The reason was the UI was hard to learn and as a teenager time wasn't in large supply thanks to school. Then 2.59 came out and I thought about getting back into it. then finally about 2 months ago I figured I'd start to take it seriously. I go out every weekend to shoot so familiarity with firearms helps. BTW that kriss you did is awesome one of the best I've seen in awhile.

Iam a teen as well, and I too have found it very hard to find time to do this stuff. I got lots of requests from people to model stuff for them. If you want it bad enough, you will find a way. Glad you like my Vector!

Yeah, been thinking about doing either a small game project or a CG movie, but still learning the basics.

That's awesome. Don't stop. It would be cool to see a 1st person shooter animation in this style. Make a simple mission and fight to the end boss. You could totally pull it off.

Wow, I really like this reload. Maybe after the reload animation, have it fire some shots off? I'd love to see that.

Damn, amazing animation! It would actually be pretty cool to have a game that instead of regular hands, the hands are robotic/mechanical like that.

I was referring to UT3. I never played the real version, but there is a UT3 thing that you get with the UDK that has robots for characters.

Hey, if you put a finger on a trigger, you should place it with halfway between the tip and first bend(can't find proper words for that, so sorry) At least that's how they taught me to do it. Also, you should do some link constrains on the right hand so it doesn't move independently, but with the weapon.

ttrlabs In reply to ranisdeguery [2012-04-18 17:05:57 +0000 UTC]

ooooh, so that's how you get it to move with the grip. I tried parenting it, but that didn't work. I'll try that later, thanks!

This looks great you really have improved, but there's one detail that isn't too a big problem; the finger on the trigger is pretty dangerous in firearm handling.

ttrlabs In reply to SomeNavySEALs [2012-04-18 05:32:03 +0000 UTC]

I KNEW THAT SOMEONE WAS GOING TO COMMENT ON THAT! I was going to fix it!

Give me an hour (gtg do something else first) and it'll be fixed
