Description Rather paradox: Deliverance through prohibition.
I've had this idea for a long time. Hope you understand and like it ^^

Edit:

I displaced the girl, because she looked very small before. She still do a bit, but I think now it's ok.

If she wants to wear an headscarf, let her, it's not like she's wearing one of Lady Gaga's costumes... (that would be fucking creepy)

The irony is the blonde 'liberated' woman doesn't realize she doing something much worst than the hijab forced or not as she is forcibly stripping the hijab wearing woman of her clothes which could be seen as an act of assualt.

It should be shown to every person who see hijab as a tool of opression and every Muslim woman as a helpless victim. That's how their "care" for our "freedom" sometimes look to us. At least to me...

One of my favorites.

Reminds me a situation, when professors asked to take-off hijab veils in their classes to a muslim girls.
I found it so discriminating and sad, although I did not wear hijab at that time and knew very few things about Islam, basicly "horror-movie" type stories, that local media and newspapers so actively spread out in the society...

Inchallah, the oppressors will not succeed and a right to wear a hijab will be as free as the air we breath!!
Ameen.

I don't get why they call headscarfs oppressive. I mean, it only covers the womans hair. Whats the big deal? If a woman wants to dress like this, then thats her right! At least she's have self-respect unlike some woman who love showing off their "womanly features".

People should dress the way they want without discrimination. Even us Pagans have our own dress code. Though we usually on abide by it during gatherings or special occasions.

tuffix In reply to GameGirlAdvance [2011-04-01 19:00:23 +0000 UTC]

Exactly I don't get it neither... -.-

Really? That's interesting. What does the Pagans' dress code look like?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

GameGirlAdvance In reply to tuffix [2011-04-01 19:45:55 +0000 UTC]

Well, during special occasions, our outfits are based on medievil and celtic fashion. We also have the option of wearing hooded cloaks with our outfits. I own a few outfits like this. Mostly puffy blouses and long skirts. VERY comfortable during the summer.

Heres a good example of our special clothing. This is what a Pagan woman would most likely wear to her wedding;

tuffix In reply to GameGirlAdvance [2011-04-02 18:43:47 +0000 UTC]

Actually there isn't something like a "Muslim" wedding dress, because it depends on the culture. Indonesians have other dresses then Egyptians. And German Muslim brides look different to Turkish Muslim brides ^^ Diversity is beautiful (: I also like the Indian clothing

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

GameGirlAdvance In reply to tuffix [2011-04-02 19:17:31 +0000 UTC]

Yeah. Every religion and culture has it's beauty. Sadly, you get individuals who gives them a bad name. Whats really sad is the people judging the entre faith/culture for the crimes of these individuals.

It happens with us Pagans. Alot of Christians hate us because a large majority of us practise witchcraft, calling us Satan worshippers. That dosen't make sense considering we don't believe in Satan or the concept of "evil". Besides, our spells are more like charms for people. It could be for luck, love or even health. Spells that hurt people, or curses, are strictly forbidden in our faith.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 2

tuffix In reply to GameGirlAdvance [2011-04-02 20:22:18 +0000 UTC]

Just wanted to add, that in Islam we also believe in witchcraft, however in our religion it is not permissible to learn or to use it. There are still many people who use it - especially with bad intentions.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

GameGirlAdvance In reply to tuffix [2011-04-02 21:18:35 +0000 UTC]

Sadly, it's not uncommen for people to use the craft unwisely. We call it dark magic. Anyone caught using it in our coven is immediently excommunicated. Our spells are to help people, not hurt them.

I'm Catholic, but I wear a veil to church and when praying, though it is of a different style and doesn't cover my hair so completely. Not many Catholic women do this anymore though.

You are also a very good artist!

Cool, you speak German? ^^

Yes, I already heard that Catholics have similar opinions concerning this issue. I guess, that's why many Eastern European women used to cover their hair as well or are there different reasons?

And yes, I can speak German Not perfectly though!

I'm not too sure about that, actually...I know that many Eastern European women did, but I never thought of putting those two things together ;
I am from New Zealand so I don't really know too much about Europe, really.. ^^

Sometimes I wish I wore my veil all the time, but I don't know.. >3<
