Description
Rather paradox: Deliverance through prohibition.I've had this idea for a long time. Hope you understand and like it ^^
Edit:
I displaced the girl, because she looked very small before. She still do a bit, but I think now it's ok.

Ich habe in der Schule gelernt ^^
Today I wore it all the way home from church (walking and on the train). It was a bit scary, but I really liked it
One woman even came up to me, in the church, and said she wanted to start wearing her one again, and that it looked beautiful. I'm happy to inspire the modesty!

Even i have learned modesty is important...just the other day i went to a dance my friend was having and well so many young were wearing sleevless or really short sleeved dress with no coat or jacket or undershirt and i was one of the few who chose to wear a dress it was sleeveless but i chose to put a long sleeved white button up shirt under neath and i was wearring leggings that went to may ankles then socks and well....it's just amazing about what some girls think is acceptable to wear..... I never feel comfortale in wearing skimpy immodest clothing...it's uncomfortable going out in public like that i have a bit of understanding as to why muslim women wear Hijab ...it's to guard their modesty and to guard he dignity. It does not oppress rather it liberates ^^....wow...very sorry for the long comment..... Peace

Hey, no problem.
It's really nice, to meet someone, who understands the aim of hijab and who doesn't feel comfortable being.. well half-naked or so. Sometimes it's so hard to explain it and especially women feel offended.

Very interesting idea.
Many Americans are not told about the option of the way people in the Middle East dress.
I guess an equivalent could be a woman wearing a proper long sleeved dress with an angle length bottom.
Many people would protest and say the American girl could dress in a revealing fashion because the women who were oppressed HAD to dress all covered up.
Plus, many Americans are paranoid for people dressing up for the way they do.
Although I don't know much about the head dress, if I recall correctly it's suppose to represent a deflection in the interest in boys (if I'm thinking of the right head dress).
Guess there's still plenty of cultural clashes in America.
But great artwork!

Thanks for your comment! I think most of the prejudices result from a lack of communication and for fear of unfamiliar things, as you said.

i'm sorry to hear there's a headscarf issue at germany
I thought only France had problem, ignorant me : /

Well, in Germany it's much less problematic than in France. We still can wear headscarfs in public and in school. alhamdulillah. But it's often an issue, when you search for a job (especially as a teacher)..
Well! Now you are in the know (;

I don't think the proportions are crazy. I think that it looks good that the blonde woman is leaping up to free the Muslim girl. I think it represents America looking over other nations because they think they're the biggest and the best. The fact that it's a woman freeing another woman is amusing to me. It's just not something you would expect. American women now feel that they have a voice, yet they're still not socially equal to men, so it's a nice bit of hypocrisy. Think of how different it would be if she was taking off a man's religious garment.
Anyway, I LOVE this picture! I think it's so adorable. You've done the expressions really well.

they try to give us freedom by saying the hijaab is bad and not hog for us,but if we want to wear it, they actually force us
Where stays the freedom then? ._.

Where they call it freedom, many of us would say it's complete anarchy.. I find western women's clothing to be oppressive because it is designed to please and impress the man rather than protect a woman's dignity. Why should a woman have to parade herself like that in front of complete strangers, it is demeaning to the woman and a form of oppression and sexism.
I also think it is very oppressive and hypocritical that they would force their ways upon us and call it 'liberation', when in all fairness that is a form of discrimination and oppression itself.
If a woman wants to wear a hijab, niqab, or anything else, then who are they to question that decision.. it is the woman's right to be modest and cover herself however she sees fit, no one should try and stop her.
Islam has done more to liberate women than any other system in history, and it wasn't until the 20th century that western women were allowed to vote, work, own property, receive inheritance, speak freely, and even choose their husband, whereas Islam had brought all of this many centuries before.
I am glad that someone supports a woman's right to her own dignity out there, keep it going!
