A boy in my art class named Tony Bui called me a free spirit one day when he was either drunk and/or half asleep. He described to me sleepily exactly what he believed a free spirit to be, and to tell you the truth, it really stuck with me. I won't insult his words by trying to repeat them the best way I can, but in my mind, a free spirit is a determined girl (or guy) who enjoys breaking through normalities and conventionalism. In the photo (taken and modeled by ~ivorylily ), she just looked like a free spirit, or like one should look.No, I didn't change the photo much at all, it was beautiful as is, but I really hope you enjoy this Ivory, and I really hope the rest of you enjoy it also.

that looks very much like a vector app. was used... what, did you put the 'photo' into photoshop and do that cut-out filter or whatever? needless to say, it's very awesome, and the edges are SUPER sharp for it to have been a photo, and the colors are very fluent within their boundaries, of course.

No. I don't posterize and I never have, and it's rather insulting you think so. It was my style at the time and I went straight from the photo and that's how I've always done it.

what exactly did you do to the photograph? I just think it's awesome whatever it is. Posterizing is very unoriginal (obviously) and I would hope that no one would do that and call it their own. I'm not saying that you did in any way, though. Whatever you've done to it brings a much higher-quality feel and color variety than 'posterizing.' I don't remember if I asked you if you vectorized it, but it looks like you did. The reason I concluded it may have been posterized is because I thought someone had posted that it was not directly. So hey- I just wondered. Apologies.

I vectored it, yeah lol. It is like copying the photo but that was the point of this picture. To be close to the original photo, which I put a link to in the description, but still put my style int it. If I posterized something it would more than likely be under photo-manip since it doesn't count as a vector.

lol, right, I hadn't thought of lookig for the type... sorry... it is even more awesome than ever now, knowing that! It reallly doesn't look posterized, but DOES look vectored... I already told you why I thought otherwise, but great job, oh geez it's awesome!

awesome work~ extremely detailed and i love the shades.. it's really one of a kind because most vector artists (or those i've seen) don't go into that much detail for the hair, and especially the eyes..

that is SO beautiful. the shading is wonderful, even the corner of the eye has so much detail in it. i love how you did almost every seperate strand of hair, it adds so much depth
what technique did you use to do the shading? i wish i could vector like that, but i just started.
