I really like this work! You're doing so well with your lighting/highlights- much better than I think I could do!
However, everything looks really airbrushed/blurred. More definite lines would really make Sam pop out of the background and become more of the focus.
Also, skin typically has quite a few more shades than just one- specifically reds. You've really got it around the dark circles/lips, but some red in key places on the arms and cheeks would really bring out some life in him!

I know, I screwed up with something and couldn't find the mistake to fix it, because whatever it is, it's not in the line art layer... it's somewhere in there, lost in between the many many other layers...
