"There's a first time for everything."Truer words were never spoken and case in point with my latest Danny Phantom pic. This one is based on a scene from my fanfic, "Hearts and Minds". After narrowly escaping Nocturne's dream world, where he sealed away their memories of each other, here we have Danny and Sam on the roof of Casper High, during a school dance. This image shows Danny and Sam sharing a warm moment after just moments ago, saying out loud for the first time that they love each other.
Without a doubt, the hardest part of this whole pic was Sam's dress. The original pencil drawing was difficult enough (it must have taken me at least five or six tries before I finally came up with a spider web design that I thought worked). But the hard lines and color were what turned out to be the real nightmare, what with the webs, the fishnets, and most complicated, the semi-transparent shawl she's got draped over her arms. I can think of at least half a dozen ways off the top of my head that I could have made this ordeal A LOT easier on myself. But when it was all said and done, I'm really glad I went the extra mile on this. There's just a lot more to see that wouldn't have been there if I'd gone a simpler way and I'm exceptionally proud of the end result. Hope you all feel the same.

Hey, Aaron, you know your plan to have Danny and Sam's relationship go from 'on the same page' to 'on the same sentence'? Well, after you write the story in question where it happens, I think you should draw another pic similar to this to commemorate the moment.

Well, that's not a bad idea. But I have to be honest, I'm not quite sure what kind of image I could come up with to kind of capture that. I'd like for the connection to manifest itself visually in some way, but how? For a little bit here, I was kind of thinking about maybe two hearts linking in an infinity symbol. But if that's what I go with, how do I present that? Do I make it, like, just a ghostly aura connection? Or do I make the image appear somewhere on their bodies? And if so, where?
Again, I like the thought. It just needs some detail.

Well, how about its represented by mixing the colors of Danny and Sam's ice and fire auras which envelops them both as they hug intensely following their acceptance of their new connection?

I don't know. I mean, orange and blue? Wouldn't that be like a brown, almost?
I'm up for the hug, though. But perhaps, whenever their connection activates (at least in close proximity), a thread of their auras reaches out to each other. And when they make contact, it creates that heart/infinity symbol I was talking about.

Well, I didn't really mean making a brown aura. I was going with the idea that they'd be surrounded by an orange and blue aura. But hey, your call.

I will always love Danny and Sam romance. You do such great job with showing them being so in love. It so very sweet. Maybe you could do some artwork showing Sam using her powers for making her parents afraid when talk about Sam becoming what they always want her to be. It be fun to see some art on that. I like the dress she is wearing. It is something that can see her in. Look forward to see more romance your artwork with Danny and Sam in future. If you ever watch D.P series again soon than check out in hour E.P U.E also D.cross my heart there is this one part where Danny makes the same face in both shows. It is when makes that face after Mr.Lancer talks test that plays part in his future. Than one in the other show is when he see that Guy kiss Sam on the lips you see the same face again. I like to think that in that show is when Danny only had eyes on Sam never any other girls after what happen. Danny and Sam love is true love that will last forever. As ever I always be thankful that you share this great artwork and stories to all that love Danny phantom.

That's a fair argument. And if truth, you wouldn't be the first one to make that criticism. It's just one of those things that I failed to see in the heat of the creative process. I've been far more diligent with more recent works. This pic is a relatively old one for me in the big scheme and I don't have half the tricks up my sleeve that I have now. Had I done this pic today, it would have turned out much differently. Still, all things considered, I was still proud of it when I was done, warts and all. So I keep it around and I take the valid comments in stride.

Glad you feel that way. To this day, I'm still glad I went the extra mile with it, even though I've learned some techniques that would have made the whole thing FAR easier now. Would have looked a little different, too, though. And frankly, I'm happy with how it turned out here.^_^
