Description
From this to this .I did this at grandparent's house. Final touches later. Meh. I don't like it but here you go.
To me Mew will always be lab rat + undeveloped animal thing (kinda like embryo or marsupial young).
Its eyes fills like half of its skull...
Btw, does anyone noticed similarites between Abra and Mew? The same head?

Actually, what I like best is the black and white draft you linked first. I think it looks more like the Pokémon, retaining the tail shape, and I like how it shows the feet more. It is a cool drawing overall. Is there a place where I can fav/like that directly?
As for the actual drawing here, I am surprised to say I kinda like this take on Mew, even though I tend to dislike realistically styled Pokémon. Those giant eyes are great! So haunting! While I do tend to think of Mew as a cat, I don't disagree with the interpretation of it as mouse-like or marsupial-like too. Pokémon don't have to be based on just one animal. So I like how you went with the cat-like triangular ears here (unlike the more mouse-like rounded ears in the black and white), but went with a more rat-like take overall. Only thing that bugs me is that you changed the shape of the tail.
Also, I have noticed the similarity between Mew and Abra. Since I think all Pokémon originally evolved from Mew, I think that Abra is just very closely related to Mew on the phylogenetic tree of Pokémon, heh.

The giant eyes based on one chicken dissection I had and images of bird's fetus. There are errors of course, I noticed them after I thought I finished the work.
I am very glad that you accept my thoughts and ideas (lately I meet a lot of angry people who seems to be offended by my drawings because they think I should have drawn them like they want).
I didn't like the tip in the work and I had no use for it. I could, perhaps, have an explanation for it as a fat supply. But as I imagine the Mew's tail very mobile, and fragile, I didn't want to change it into a hammer-like part. There aren't many muscles there, to support such weight. And even if we count psychic powers that can control the tail, I consider such use of energy consuming brain powers as a waste. I could put a bone there, but why? I could put fluff there, but that's just nonono, not my taste. This is one of the rarer times I changed the design more that I shouldn't, in an opinion of typical viewer.

Ooh, those are neat sources of inspiration. I would not have ever connected Mew to a dissected chicken, and while I do think of Mew like an embryo or fetus, I probably would not have considered a bird fetus. I am sure those mom-mammalian references add to the bit of creepiness this Mew has.
That does make sense. Why does Mew have that tail shape anyway? I don't like thinking of it as fluff either; that doesn't seem right to me when it is drawn that way... Hm... now you will have me up at night trying to come up with an explanation for the tail shape, haha.

i always liked how mew looks. but this just makes him look yuck. infact alow of the pokemon i like the look of i didn't like in your collection. it was actually the ones i wasn't keen on that looked the coolest.

I think this is the most disturbing depiction of.. Any pokemon really, I have ever seen. In a good way! 
One of your best pieces in my opinion. Especially because of its creepy-ness.

Mew is usually drawn in such a simple ans cute style that it's easy to forget that it is basically a floating embryo.
