Description
Shell Beach / Central Coast of CaliforniaWho would thought that the hour I get away the sky would explode and produce a show of such beauty that hasn't been seen in quite some time. A moment of awe as the land reflected those colors in every rock and shell and if the shadows themselves could have cried out in envy of the land's envelope of something wholly beautiful and silent as this.

This is a wonderful photo. Did you use any filters or post processing much? How about the camera settings for this?

Hey there, for this photo I actually didn't use any filters. What i did was take three pictures, each about 2 f stops apart and combined the pictures into 1 using Photomatix, essentially giving us the picture you see. I then opened it up in Camera Raw in Photoshop basically just to create a file for the web. The colors were so vivid that night that there was no need for adjustments in saturation. The blues in the picture were actually too saturated and had to be toned down to keep it closer to reality. Thanks!
