Description My best friend went to Italy last summer and got me a mask from Venice and a scarf.

I've been wanting to do a self portrait for a while and #Drawers-Life holding a self portrait contest supplied a good motivation to get this done.

However I cannot stand this scan of it. There is something about a certain blue (or maybe it's one of the purples) prismacolor pencils that I have never been able to get to scan right. The scanner just picks it up that color stronger than the others and throws the whole thing slightly off. I may see if I can get a nice photo of it instead . . . because really I love the way this looks in real life.

Have you tried playing around with the curves? I think it looks awesome.

You can compare the last image in the process shots: [link] to this final image. It's not as blue. I should mention I rather suck at doing curves. I may give it another go.

Yeah I tried everything. Curves, brightness, levels, color balance, hue. Honestly I think it's the way it scans. When the light of the scanner hits it, it picks up this certain blue color and enhances it. You can really see it in the scarf to the right. Where it's suppose to be the darkest in shadow it's really blue. It's not like that when looking at it in real life because it's been layered under other colors.
