Description
~~~Part 2/4 of a commission for - this time a gradient-shaded pic of her Glass dragon, Dichroic. ^^
Dichroic is so pretty!~~~ And not as 'difficult' as people claim he supposedly is, don't worry Dracona-Fin.
I also tried a little something different on those twin tails - little circles of shading to show off his shiny, glassy appearance. Whaddya think?
Two down, two to go! Thank you Dracona-Fin!
Commissions in this style are still available to anyone interested. ^^
Enjoy!
Love the coloring. The double tails are a very interesting twist, and the glow effect is great! Now, since dragons aren't real, no one can really say what they look like. My own personal tastes tend toward "realism". With that view point, I would suggest the tails are too long, as they would interfere with flight. I would have them end at the bend to better match the neck length...nature loves symmetry.
The body is well done and muscled enough to power this beast into the air. I would however make the wingspan wider to add enough surface to provide lift.
Thats all based on realism. I don't consider this "criticism", since it's an imaginary creature, there is no right or wrong! Do your thing, you're doing it well!! Keep it up!!
Lets start off with the good things about this piece of art, first great colors and details and i love the different colors of blue. Very bright and neon but you could barley see the face of the dragon just a little but, everything else is super great!! The only other bad things about this artwork is that, well you cant see all the detailing, i mean you can see most of it but not all of it. You dont have to change your style at all.
Cant wait to see more artwork from you and keep up the good work.
BLUES! You always manage to make them so vibrant, despite their disposition to be βcoldβ colours! So much depth. As for the βglass shadingβ while it is a deviation from your normal style it still fits in with the overall feel and flow of the piece.
All those stripes⦠I always find them hard with Dichroic in particular⦠mainly because they seem to follow some sort of amazing pattern! You carried them off soooo perfectly, and I will admit seeing the stripes over his thigh randomly reminded me of Skeezit *gives Skeezit love while she is on tangent*
Iβm so glad you enjoyed working on him though Alsoβ¦ seeing these boys come out so amazingly makes me want to see if I have the funds to commission you to do my other two active dragonsβ¦ Forest Alder and Forest Hollyhocks β¦ >.> hmmm, plotting.
Blue is my favourite of my favourite colours, hehe. I loved doing this guy! His wings are really, really neat.
The stripes reminded me of Skeezit too! I started on the stripes on his neck too and I'm like, 'Hey, these are like chevrons...like Abdulaziz!' And it was fancy.
I really like how the stripes appear to be glowing, too, in some places.
Oh yeah, that'd be fun! The more dragons, the merrier! ^^
I gotta admit it shows! All the lovely blues! His wingsβ¦ homgβ¦ they have to be some of the more unique ones I have seen (and I can say this without sounding up myself as the original design was not mineβ¦ this is my flimsy reasoning and Iβm sticking too it *fail*).
I have no idea what the orginal design had in mind when they gave him those stripes, but they look amazing; and that glow *noms on its sexiness* just sooooo pretttyyy*
XD Iβll drop you another PM with all the plots β¦ when I can decide who to βborrowβ for art purposesβ¦ its always so hard to pick
Oh yeah, the wings are definitely like...no other wings I've seen, I have to admit. To me, they have a very space-like vibe, like the loose wing finger would be more suited to less gravity and floating through stars... But hey, I like space. And same for his stripes! That kind of mix of organic and inorganic shapes is pretty and...oh no, I gotta say it, 'out of this world!' Lol! *is brick'd for so many space puns*
And sounds good!
The lack of membrane on that final finger would indeed make for good 'space' wings.
I think in the end my adaption of Di had him using them like an extra finger or something (would have to dig out my notes) nothing wrong with liking space, we all have our passions to inspire our art for sure!
btw, that PM is still in the works... holiday season ate my funds so been working on putting some aside
Ah, an extra-long wing finger would actually be pretty sweet - for like climbing and fun stuff. ^^ *pictures him in a rainforest*
And okay! X)
Indeed it could work like that, but Di might be a little 'big' for that (100ft long), unless the trees were very large too. Alder (who is totally on the list of dragons I want to send to you next) is my climber, part Flying fox, part dragon with a prehensile tail
Wow! Yeah, he'd be pretty big for that then. XD And oh sweet, bat dragon!
Very nice, I love the colouring and the glowy
The tails look a bit uncomfortable bent at that angle, but then I'm a dragon that doesn't have a very flexible tail.
