~~~*FULL-VIEW FOR FULL-AWESOMENESS!*
...WOW.
This guy...this guy...is sooo cool...omg...I'm so pleased... I feel happy of myself.
Once again, like with Huznullah, working with scales...using these big bad boys as an excuse to practice scales and nail 'em...
Having fun with these designs...
So this guy is my latest character, same league as Huznullah, in the Hafiz ul-Haqq, or Keepers of Truth.
This guy's name is 'Kalamullah,' which is Arabic for 'Voice of God.' This is because of his power - his roar is /immense,/ for lack of better description... His full roar, though rarely used, often incites earthquakes, landslides, avalanches, sandstorms, buildings collapsing...you name it!
To aid this roar, he has large, deep lungs, a thick neck, and unusually wide jowls, (you'll see that better in his ref sheet, inshallah...) Also, he is covered with fins - he can angle these fins to help direct the sound waves from his roar towards his target, to create like a...belching sonic boom. X)
Still working on this style - didn't use as light a background or as much blur as this time - closer to Skeezit's 'Birth of a Prophet' piece I submitted yesterday.
Ballpoint pen sketch, coloured in PSE.
Please feel free to critique the shading and scale-work!
Also...check out my new sig, featuring Idracil! <3
Enjoy!
Alright, I'll probably get a lot of negative feedback for this, but I have to say it.
I've been seeing your art around for a while, and - why, just why do you completely overuse watermarks? Your art is really beautiful but these watermarks just destroy it, why can't you see? I understand you want to protect your artwork, but that is just too much, there are a lot of other artists on the same or even higher level than you are and they don't use such blatant watermarks on their works. A small watermarkish-signature, no problem. but this? Your own mark is already too big, but at least in the corner, but that dA-watermark - really? Do you really think that's necessary? *sigh*
Well, on the other hand, this is very well done and the anatomy is incredible.
Despite loving this picture, I am going to agree with them that you watermarked it OUT THE ASS. You could of added one large subtle watermark over the whole image rather then having two very fat heavy ones which break the picture up and take the viewer very harshly away from the art.
I dont care what you do with your pictures, if you want to slap copyrights all over it go for it- but 1. It wont protect your art. Someone will just trace it if they really want it and 2. it doesn't look professional or great lolololol
hurdurrrrr
Love the contrast! He looks as powerful as he sounds! But I wonder.. is his bark worse than his bite? (;
I don't comment frequently, but I just wanted to say that the new dragon art you've been producing has been awesome, and reminiscent of some of my favorite dragon artists. Your style of posing is intricate but natural, which is also my favorite sort. Well done.
GORGEOUS <3 Wow I love your designs. I might have to commission you for a design some day!
I love his colors... The patterns and way they're laid out seem very natural, compared to just being a red and black dragon xD
Oh, sweet! I've never actually gone to those - when are they? I may be overseas for part of the summer, hahaha.
If I don't make it, send me a Note when you're going to the main Faire so we can meet up!
