Hey I have Photoshop Elements 6.0 and I can't find the button to add layer mask to the background layer. In other words, I can't find the button to do step 5. It's really frustrating. Could you help me out here? Is there a menu, like the layer menu or somthing I can go to to find that button? Thanks.

Well, because you have photoshop elements, it a wee bit different from normal photoshop. I went ahead and found some information for you online that I think will help. See the links below.

Click Edit --> Fill... Then a window will pop up, and there is a drop down menu that will probably say "Foreground color", well, just select black and click okay. Or... Make sure your color is set to black, and then use the paint bucket tool.
