Tibet was invaded by China, but the UN managed to convince China to stop its invasion in exchange for Taiwan's seat on the Permanent Security Council.

I've recently read it. It is one project I found rather interesting due to how unique it was. I liked the part with the "Trinity" of Lenin. Trotsky, and Stalin's heads.

Indeed, the nazi and soviet are good but as some 4chan user have said, they are quite cliche(super scientst soviet vs nazi magicks) on the other hand, the american zombies are unique twist of the setting until the point they kind of forgot about the rest(like japan, they argue a lot)
But the project is let there because 4chan cant focus in something for more than 20 minutes, what a shame

The development was delayed due to sabotage and in 1946 the Imperial Japanese Army secretly staged a coup when Emperor Hirohito began proposing peace when the Battle of Tokyo seemed imminent. Hiroshima, Kokura, Niigata, Sendai, and Maebashi were hit in 1947 after the Manhattan Project succeeded.

Also, what is the position of the Islamic states? Pro-USA, Pro-USSR or Third Faction?Β
I like this map, I really do.

For the Islamic nations that would vary by country. Saudi Arabia and Jordan would be pro-US, while Libya and Syria would be pro-USSR. Most are in the Non-Aligned group.

Just wondering, how's the relations between China and the Soviet union in this world you've got going on? Is China like a third faction of the Cold War?

In this timeline the Sino-Soviet split still occurred and was made worse when the USSR annexed Mongolia. Relations were finally rebuilt after Khrushchev was removed from power and the disputed boundaries between the USSR and China were peacefully resolved.

It's not politically extreme like North Korea, but relations with South Japan are similar to Korean tensions. The government of North Japan is slowly reforming and relation with the south are being repaired. After the fall of the Soviet Union, North Japan is slowly moving to reunite with the south and Russia has signed treaties with South Japan to allow it to keep its bases in the north in the event of reunification.

Actually, I think that the Soviet Union would have collapsed sooner. Communism is simply a bad economic system. The Soviet Union itself was economically weak, and the smaller communist states would have collapsed without constant Soviet aid. With more mouths to feed, Soviet coffers would have drained all the faster, leading to an earlier collapse.

tylero79 In reply to sage-of-irrelevence [2013-03-31 02:11:06 +0000 UTC]
It survived simply because of Medvev's purges and later reforms. The our TL, the Soviet Union collapsed for more reasons then its government's difficulties in economic planning such as the various nationals wanting independence and the desire for reform.

In this timeline, Gorbachev never gained power, instead Leonid Agapov became the leader. At first he continued Brezhnev's policies, but by the late 80's the Politburo wanted to replace him due his plans to introduce plans such as Glasnost and Perestroika. In 1989, after returning from Afghanistan, Marshal and high-ranking KGB and Party Member, Dmitri Bozhestvovich Medvev, quietly disposed of Agapov and was appointed General Secretary of the CPSU. When Premier Andrei Zubov learned of the assassination of Agapov, he tried to assassinate Medvev. When the attempt failed Zubov was blamed for the death of Agapov and Medvev used it to reintroduce Stalin's policies of the GULAG and the purges. Medvev was later declared Premier as well. At first tensions were high with the US until Medvev presented himself as a man of peace and repaired relations. Those were just a cover for the Soviet-American War (1996-1997). After the UN negotiated peace, the Medvev decided to democratize the Union as an attempt at repairing world relations and internal relations. Medvev's policies of ravnostnost (equality), were introduced to give each republic equal footing with each other and greater autonomy to the republics. In 1999, the Soviet Union finally collapsed as the republics decided to push for full independence. Medvev is still President of Russia.
As for the post-Soviet Union World, i've made one a month ago-[link]
The Austrias and Germanies reunited after the collapse of the Eastern Bloc in 1998.
