This right here is my head cannon and also the reason I donβt like those fanfictionβs about celestia being defeated by humans I mean if sheβs being who can raise the sun and the moon as well and has all this power then there is nothing literally nothing that any human could do to hurt her and technically queen or princess doesnβt fit her with the kind of power she says she has I think the term Goddess would fit her
Also on her note itβs true all the power can be scary but the fact that sheβs been able to maintain it for so long just proves sheβs a very powerful pony she should really talk with the mane six or her sister about this you know to clear the air.I mean if Luna is an alicorn heck even cadence then they probably have just as much trouble as she does in my not be a strong as her but they may have something in common again just saying.

Oh, please... Celestia, weak-hearted and stupid? Nonsense. Utter nonsense. As it has been said before, it takes a being of incredible power not to snap out like she fears she would. She knows how to balance things, which is a strength in and of itself.
Her, being the bigger monster than the likes of Discord? Don't make me grin.
What does he know about this? What has he done to be in any position to make this kind of comment? Nearly nothing.
Has he ever done even half as much good as Celestia did? Never.
Not that this is surprising by any extent in this comics' context, but Discord is just one-sided.
I think he is just finding it more cowardly convenient for him not to dwell longer on this consideration, that him being turned to stone was Celestia actually showing restrain and mercy, ergo strength worthy of a true benevolent ruler.
Wouldn't there be any way for Celestia to learn how to master her power better, so she isn't appearing like a useless decoy?

So let me get this straight. She says she's "weak" because she can't go all out and is afraid. But in reality doesn't this mean the opposite? It takes a huge strength in character to be the bigger man/mare and simply walk away. Power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely. And by her logic she has absolute power....and yet she isn't corrupted. What does that say?

When she turned into Nightmare Moon, she would cause even more damage, and yet mane 6 beat her while Celestia didn't helped (if Nightmare Moon was as powerful as Celestia describe herself here, while no holding back, mane 6 and Ponyville would be destroyed rather then toyed with).

Interesting headcanon, though we all know that real reason is because in Hasbroland (which is really more like a province of Disneytopia), queens = bad and princesses = good. I've always been slightly disappointed that Hasbro refused to break the mold and forced Faust to make Celestia a princess instead of a queen. :\

Very deep. Reminds me of the 10th Doctor in "The Family of Blood" and what we learn about his race with the 11th Doctor. While his race is powerful, they are (spoiler alert) monstrously cruel. The Doc seems to be hold himself back. Though Celestia's sentiments for holding back seem more because she has a 'big heart' for her home and people (weak as it maybe).

I absolutely agree but looking at this I could have worded her sentiments a little better. I think I might have ill explained the "weakness" she's referring to here, I'm terrible with dialog sometimes that even when I think of them ahead I often forget the exact intended wording I wanted to use 'til it's too late. I think I might need to go back and change a few of the dialog here

Maybe, though I think the use of the word gives the reader a chance to contemplate Celestia's perspective as a cosmic being in your universe. It gives her more depth, a contrast from the portrayal of the original character in the MLP:FIM series.

And while this is probably of little concern to yourself this gives me great confidence for my fanfic: End of all Harmony involving Celestia and Luna's mom coming back and not only is she EVIL (always has been but she's been discorded for the last who knows how many centuries) but she takes over Equestria and is empowered by the elements of disharmony.
