A pure blood Atlantean, one of the few still left in this world after the national crisis twenty years ago. She has been keeping her bloodline secret and living the life of an ordinary human all for the sake of her son, but having obtained a keyblade of his own she found it that much harder to conceal his bloodline from the public view. In the end she had to put a seal on his powers and leave him, fearing that her very presence will get him in serious hot water. All she could do for him was set up his own place to live with his own weekly income to support himself. She barely got to see him since then...

He suddenly disappeared from her radar almost completely. Desperately trying to find him using any lead she could get, only to find out that he died in the midst of a massive struggle somewhere in Egypt.

Years after that, she is now a proud warrior not afraid to show off the very Keyblade she wields, no longer concerned with keeping her bloodline secret. Her whole outlook on life has become slightly harshe and grizzled, only a hint of her original cheerful and friendly self remains (and only towards those closest to her heart). She has also gone and joined up a strange assortment of meta-humans calling themselves the ATDPG (Anti-Tyrranux Disaster Prevention Guild), a group who's modevations seem to be focused on preventing any more incidents involving the very being known as Tyrranux, Aqua herself holding a high secondary command position. Their methods remain to be seen but they are already taking action.

Yes, her name is Aquarius, like the song......her parents were kind of hippies...

And yes I took a design cue from ABA from the Guilty Gear series, hell what she was wielding was basically a Keyblade (emphasis on "blade" upon closer inspection of the key's teeth). So my way of thinking is, what if down the road the Keyblade became powerful enough that it actually evolves into a full on sentient organism that can better sync up with the user? And here we are. Aqua with her big ass Keyblade with a fucking face and little arms.
