Fullview!This has taken me a pretty long time to make, and has gone threw a lot of stages and concepts...
Started of as an pencil drawing a few years ago after I had watched the movie Stargate for the first time. Got inspired by the Anubis warriors in that movie, and I wanted to make my own version/design.
Then for a few mounts ago I started on a digitaly painted version of it but wasn't to satisfied with the result.
I felt that I didn't have the knowledge or skill to get it the way I wanted.
But finally after hours of work and after some human anatomy studies I feel pretty pleased with the result!

We need a new blockbuster stargate franchise ASAP! Like Star Wars and Star Trek movies...the concept of Stargate is so unique and has so much potential, shame they didn't do much with it, shows were good but I want big blockbuster movies

There is a funny story about this drawing.
Last year (actually its early 2013) my friend draw an anubis character for fun and he found a reference drawing from 2012 and he lowed the design of the futuristic anubis bust and he draw the face for his character. Then tonight i see this drawing and it is the same head but from 2007..
One legend head of anubis design drawn by many artists not modified abit. I think this shows how brilliant the design is..
ah btw i Β started modeling anubis and guess what? Im using this head design as my reference as well.. You can check out how its going on my gallery

Nice painting there! Actually, the funny thing is... 3 years ago I drew my own tatto of Anubis, and it's on the exact same place as your painting's placing of the tattoo. And with the exact same head proportions with a green eye (the green eye was an improvisation of me and the tattoist during the time he tattoed me)! Amazing resemblence

Sorry if you don't want comments on an older work, but I must say how amazing this is! You did a wonderful job with the coloring, and and the design altogether is amazing~
It reminds me of those Anubis warriors in Stargate (like you mentioned in the comments), but it also strongly reminds me of an episode of Samurai Jack - with these warriors of Set that the main character, Jack, had to defeat.
Overall, I really love this. Keep up the good work!
