Description
I'm not to happy with how this turned out. I wanted to have more going on in the foreground and middle ground, but i just got sick of working on it. I was taking a lot of inspiration from Noriyoshi Ohrai's poster art for Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla 2.Related content

I don't know why but for some reason I find it funny the MechaGodzilla was built by monkey humanoid aliens.

I wish this is what Mechagodzilla 2 looked like in Terror of Mechagodzilla.

Seems you took some inspiration from Showa MechaGodzilla as well

I love the way all the details of the originalΒ - the finger guns, the accordion joints, the tin-can blockiness, the shape of the head - are there, but they're still modernized to look more like an actual robot. There's still a medieval brutality to the whole thing.

In my opinion having a busier fore- and middle-ground would take away from the dramatic tone of this shot. It looks like it would be right at home as the antagonist reveal in an IDW comic.

While I agree that the foreground and middle ground deserve more attention, your work is stunning. Beautifully rendered, stellar job!

Thank you very much! I have a lot of mixed feelings about this drawing, There's so much more i could've done with the concept in general, but that's the power of hind sight.

I specially love the way you seamlessly merged the poster mechagodzilla and the original

We NEED one.

That is an AWESOME reinterpretation of the classic MechaGodzilla! It's retro, yet new at the same time.

I hope the ones from Rulers of Earth look like this. Im fine with the classic take, tho. It's just they don't look "alien" for me.

Thank you very much, but I have to disagree. That title belongs to the late and great Noriyoshi Ohrai. With Art Adams being a close second

I especially like how you involved the "Space Simians"! Sure they were possibly only in the movie to capitalize on the popularity of "Planet of The Apes" movies but they were still interesting alien invaders in their own right!

I've always loved the original and this is just a great piece of art. Β Thank you so much for sharing. Β One comment / critic: Β I like the robotic arms that are working on MechaG, but I think that they should/would be mounted on rails (or something similar) so that they could move around the "hangar" to work on more area. Β Just a thought. Β Keep up the good work!

Thanks! Yeah, the Robotic arms are on rails already, those are the seams on the wall. In retrospect I could have done a better job of implying that if i had made them wider or made two of them per Arm. Thanks though!

I see it now, I was expecting them to run vertically not horizontally. Β With their reach your method makes more sense, but I agree that it is perhaps a tad subtle. Β Regardless, it is a great pic, and thank you for sharing
