Overall

Vision

Originality

Technique

Impact

This piece has a few ideas of different creatures added into the final concept and combined, some are slightly noticeable but however overall they blend in well and add too the concept in a positive way. Their is nice originality with the legs and upper body of the creature with an interesting design too the head. Over all the concept gets its concept across with high strength of its character and gives an impression of the creatures abilities. It also gives us a hint of the creatures thoughts and mind set. great work overall and I give it a strong good positive Critique!.

I am onto writing my second Fantasy Horror novel at the moment and images such as this are perfect for inspiring my imagination. Sometimes I ca write an entire just from a good image in my head. I think artists drawn in thier head and writers write in their head. But in saying thisI also think a good artist needs fantasy and a good writer needs fantasy art.
Its a marriage of talents.

Love it.

Thanks, I am glad to inspire. And it's true .. reading is really fundamental in helping the imagination I was fortunate to be read to when I was younger. I wish I could read more but things get too busy with work and stuff

Cool piece, though his head kinda resembles the tooth fairies from Hellboy 2 [link]

all you need to do is practice really. Start by just sketching from photo if you can't take a figure drawing class. But if you have time you should take figure drawings and landscape painting and not to forget to always draw from your imagination too. Even if it does not look good yet.. just don't stop practicing.

Here are some good places to check out:
[link] I used to teach at Concept Design Academy when it first started it was just me and Kevin Chen. Now you can find artist like Khang Le, Charlie Wen, James Paik, Carlo Arellano and Jerad Marantz teaching there, they have a lot of really good professionals guest that come to do workshops. It is in Pasadena. If you are in the LA area this is the place to go. There is also
Red Engine Studios [link] another group of friends that started their own school. Also in the LA area.

[link] online school. I have a couple of workshops here the only place I have actually. A good place to go if you are short in cash. Workshops are just $25

[link] schoolism and online school, I haven't taught at but I want take some classes there, some really great artists there too.

and there is youtube and livestream filled with a lot of videos that are free, there are so many artist here that share their process and are really really good . But just be careful not to drown in your research coz you need to spend most of your time drawing and painting.
