Description
My Polyphemus Moths are all hatching out of their cocoons like crazy. Here are four of the twenty-two that hatched. Most of these I'm freeing since it's so late in the season. I will be raising some more caterpillars for wintering cocoons.Related content

Amazing color and shape. They look interesting laid out on the icy surface.

All your babies turned out beautifully. Hope they live and prosper when you let them go.

this is so unfair to you and to a great photo...but I just read the phrase about my moths are hatching and I immediately think of Buffalo Bill in Silence of the Lambs...
You don't have a senator's daughter trapped in a well in your basement, do you Greg?

Them's the drawbacks of raising moths after such a movie release. That and I'll never think of a nice bottle of chianti the same way again. My moths (caterpillars) are raised in a greenhouse outside of my own abode... and nope, no senator's daughter in a hole around here. Uffda!!!
