very cool! I'm assuming that with the current extension tube you shoot manually? or did you get one of those fancy ones?

I spent about $100 on the tube. I'm able to shoot using the auto functions as well as manually.

two questions. how do you get the snakes to get their mouths open like that all the time? and how do you find out about contests???

Some snakes are more gregarious than others and will keep up a fight with me... by opening their mouths and striking out at me. Others are more docile and wouldn't even dream of striking out at me. In other words, I handle lots of snakes and am fortunate enough to be able to capture lots of mouth action.
I belong to several clubs and enter their contests every now and again. I have them all listed in my journal.
