Description

The two waited until the crowds outside died out, the visitors and the workers dwindled as the time went by and the sun began to set, light drained from the fair and it's surroundings, leaving only darkness.

Darkness that soon found a flashlight being poked around inside it.

Elena and Amanda had snuck out of the inn they'd been holed up in for the past few hours, making their way through the now silent town, the wind softly blowing, coldly, after the noise and mood that they had experienced through the day, the quiet of the night was unnerving, almost alien to the two sleuths.

But that wasn't the only strange part of it all.

No, the other strange part was Elena's insistence on holding Amanda's hand, and when that failed, her wrist.

"Okay but why though" Amanda protested.

"To keep ya safe" Elena responded in a sincere tone as they turned a corner, having now decided to put on a coat and some shoes, too fond of her outfit to ditch it just yet.

"But I don't need you keeping me safe! I do this kind of stuff all the time!"

"And? That don't make it any less dangerous, what kinda adult would I be if I just let ya run off on ya own?"

"If that's the case why didn't you just leave me at the inn?"

"Cause ya'd sneak out anyway, same thing I'd do"

"Well...True" Amanda conceded.

"Besides, even with this flashlight it's still hard to see anythin, can't tell whose hidin round what corner, and...Wait, ya see that?" Elena said, having spotted light in the distance through a glut of alleys.

"I do" Amanda replied, the two quickly moved towards, their curiosity as bad as each others.
