The dancing lasted for around fifteen minutes, sweat forming on Elena's bared stomach and face, not helped by the heat of that afternoon, her muscles tightening the more she danced, much to the delight of the crowd.

"What magicks doth thou use?" Elena asked anyone who used their cell phones to record her performance, not even attempting to hide her southern accent, which just made her sound even sillier, and made the New England raised Amanda Jones internally groan at such butchery of the English language.

Finally, the red head took a bow and a deep breath, the crowd clapped in appreciation, snapping some more pictures of her as she smiled eagerly. Both at the attention she has gotten, and the woman she had spotted in the corner of her eye.

The same woman approached her as she sat down, eager to meet the detective she'd read about online, if not expecting these exact circumstances.

"Well well well" Elena said as she sat down on the table, taking a sip of ale from the mug that was on it, "What's a New England amateur detective doin ere?" She added, also happy to meet the detective whose blog posts she'd read online.

"Oh, well, I think it's the same reason you're here" Amanda replied, a little surprised at how casually Elena was talking to her, as if they'd known each other for months, not seconds.

"Ya mean lookin into why people keep vanishin at night here?" Elena said.

"Exactly" Amanda confirmed. Both women nodded.

"Elena" The redhead put her hand out.

"Amanda" The young woman shook it with a smile.

Both of them quickly agreed to trade notes, to discuss the case further in Elena's room at the inn, glad not to be working alone in this field for once in their lives and happy to talk about each others cases for hours on end with the enthusiasm of giddly school girls...Which Amanda admittedly was.

Not too far from them though. Was someone who did not share their mood. Someone who watched them with an unblinking stare.
