Description
"So this is your idea of a date, Ionescu?! Couldn't have just settled for dinner, movie and a shag, could you?!""Shut up and run, I'll shag you when we get out of here!"
Jonathan laughed, despite the sound of the leechers drawing ever closer. They hadn't expected to find a whole colony down here. He could already imagine the familiar robotic voice over the speakers: 'We are... sorry to announce that the... 17.55 to... Portsmouth and Southsea is delayed by approximately... fifteen minutes, due to... a group of large man-eating worms blocking the line at Swanwick. Please listen for further announcement for... information...' - UK rail wasn't getting any more reliable it seemed. Then again, at least this part of the railway system had been abandoned years ago. Which in turn had enabled the leechers to thrive down here.
"I'll hold you to that! And next time we'll bring a bloody bazooka! I'm fed up with these guns not even scratching the surface of things I'm trying to kill!"
"And thinking you've been but a student not long ago." Velkan grinned wolfishly.
"Believe me, there are times I long for the peace and boredom of a lecture hall."
"Like now for example?"
Jonathan gazed back at the wriggling mass of enormous bodies and sharp teeth pouring out of the tunnel behind them.
"You kiddin' me? This is like the best date ever!"
~~~
I'm so bloody proud of this one I tell you. I pat myself on the shoulder
Well, if it's actually fun is open to question but it seems the two are messed up enough to enjoy themselves
Impressive use of light and shadow. The action poses are very well done, too. I imagine it's very difficult to get characters in mid-motion like this, but you've made it look very natural.Β
