Description
In sleep he sang to me, in dreams he came,that voice which calls to me,
and speaks my name.
And do I dream again? For now I find
the phantom of the opera is there
inside my mind.
Sing once again with me our strange duet;
my power over you grows stronger yet.
And though you turn from me to glance behind,
the phantom of the opera is there
inside your mind.
Those who have seen your face
draw back in fear.
I am the mask you wear,
It's me they hear.
Your spirit and my voice in one combined;
the phantom of the opera is there
inside your mind.

Listening to the song I got the idea of making alternate universe versions of some iconic scenes from musicals, movies or cartoon, the first of them is... Phantom of the Opera, what a surprise
Linky's and my vampires Elijah (as the Phantom) and Tyron (as *cough* Christine) in the most awesome scene. I'm pretty happy with this one ^^ And it is dedicated to my sweet

Thank you for sayíng that. This means a lot to me since I had the feeling of not getting any further with my art, not improving anymore. ^^*

I probably have a good perspective on this since I only recently discovered you (oh, dear. That makes you sound like some exotic Temple hidden in a jungle, doesn't it? Too much oogling of Nathan, I think ), and I've been looking through all your work in a short time.
There's been a definite improvement in your art over the years. Some of the earlier pieces *were* very good, don't misunderstand me, but even the better ones had a slightly "standard" quality about them - "Bite Me", for instance, was a nice piece of artwork but I couldn't have looked at it and instantly recognized it as yours. You've developed your own distinctive style and tone in your most recent postings, which has moved away from the "digital" look and far closer to the feel of something hand-drawn. I could look at any of your most recent pieces and recognize them as yours from your use of shape and colour and lighting. Some are better than others - "Couldn't Be Easy" isn't as fine a piece of art as "Dies Irae Kyrie" or "Chains of Morality" or "Bad Things" - or this stunning piece - but it's still distinctively yours. I'm biased, of course, but I think "Conversations with Dead People" was a new high for you in certain respects. The mood and lighting there necessarily leaned towards the "darker" aspects of gothic rather than the gentle, romantic aspect shown here, but the way you lit that - especially that incredible ghost - was astonishingly complex and detailed.
Um... maybe I should just have said "yes, you are definitely improving"?

I went to comment on this and suddenly through my head I heard:-
"Far too many notes for my taste / And most of them about Christine / All we've heard since we came is Miss Dyer's name..."
This is one of the best pieces of art I've seen from you. The way you've lit the characters and background is superb - gothic, but romantic-gothic rather than sinister-gothic, with a perfectly judged mix of candlelight and shadows. I think it's the most attractive Tyron you've created (Christine is in a word, sublime ) and one of the best versions of Elijah. I like their expressions - Elijah tender and a little grim, Tyron a mix of eager and nervous.
As for what Elijah's planning to do with Tyron, a word of advice: "To hell with Gluck and Handel / Have a scandal and you're sure to have a hit!"

Hihi ^^ I don't know much more than the German versions of Music of the Night and Phantom of the Opera by heart but those lyrics really fit, both quotes I really must listen to the whole soundtrack one of these days, recently I'm only listening to Wicked, Dance of the Vampires and to the two songs I mentioned from Phantom
Thank you so much I must say I'm pretty happy with this, it is very close to the vision I had in mind (which often ends in total frustration when I just cannot get the result I want). Good to hear you like the look of them both and that their expressions really transport what I wanted to show ^^
I'm very happy not only to have you as a customer but also to have you commenting on my art. Your way of looking at it really is amazing
