Description Because there’s one in every family. And sometimes two.

That’s Lilo, Rapunzel and Stitch, along with a Kuzco Llama piñata, all of them belonging to Disney.

Oh, and don’t read any critical interpretation into this, as if I thought that Rapunzel deserves to be whacked. Mostly this was just practice at drawing real people, something I’m not that good at. Along with practice drawing something that originated with someone else, which I often need to do professionally. One thing I managed to avoid was much-needed practice drawing shoes. I’m terrible at drawing shoes.

I've heard that Bare Feet (or just drawing them) is actually a sign of humbleness, humility or even an Innocent nature, which I can agree with. Even I myself kinda seem to prefer drawing Feet rather than shoes on specific character that I draw in my recent comics. That, and it's very healthy to go Barefoot, too: www.unshod.org/pfbc/toysaw.htm

PS. Did you know that Disney is making a CG Series on "Tangled" that'll take palce between the film & the Wedding short? Looking forward to that one.

Slushie-faerie and I joked about that for some time, that she can’t draw feet and I can’t draw shoes. Actually, as I mentioned in my piece Mighty Mickey, Native American’s often can’t wear off-the-shelf shoes confortably and everyone in my house has been habitually barefoot most of our lives. We can walk places and in temperatures that amaze and alarm most people.

The Barefoot culture has actually been on Earth since the beginning, and even America was Barefoot tolerant waaaay back in the 70's.
I'm not surprised that American Indians go Barefoot as it feels very peaceful & lessons strain & stress on the Feet.
Where do you currently reside in? California?

New Mexico, actually, about an hour away from the Apache Reservation. As far as it goes, I attended a lot of different schools growing up and most of them were very tolerant of me wearing moccasins or even going barefoot since I did have a valid problem with wearing shoes. My oldest is now going through the same thing, although there are now a couple of brands of shoes in Native American sizes.

I should explain about possible name confusion. My Lady Vet Melinda is often known my her Apache nickname Cyndi Bare, after the character Cindy Bear in the old Yogi Bear cartoons. In college people kept asking about her spirit animal, and she made that up. Since my kid Mickey (Michaela) has always had a resistance to wearing not just shoes but clothes in general, her nickname is Running Bare.

I was baron/raised in California & now I reside in Washington. I kinda wished that schools would allow Barefoot to school, since it can help kids in their physical & mental development.

Ah, I see. Nakedness is a sacred element in it's own nature, so it's only fair, if not honorable, if one gets draw in he Nude.

Bilbo, it occurs to me that you might be better at wearing shoes if you actually wore them. It must be hard to draw things you never really see....

Not that I have much of a moral high ground there. *glaces down at bare feet*

Well, that sounds reasonable, but just think about what you see all the time here at DA. There’s nothing all those male artists draw more often than boobies. Pumped up with helium so that they don't respond to gravity, of course...

And I do have the excuse that I live in the warm, sunny desert where it sometimes gets so dry that it occasionally makes it stop raining all the way to where you live

Like I said... you can't actually draw what you've never seen. It's just imaginative artistic rendition. *grin*

I think the best one I ever saw was in an advertisement was when I was in Japan, and the girl's breasts seemed to have the consistency of... tapioca pudding. Either that, or it was a really weird fabric choice for her bikini top. O_o

You draw feet to avoid shoes? Heh, I draw shoes to avoid feet. Maybe we could trade. d=

Maybe we came work out a half-trade that would allow me to draw shoes halfway good and you could draw fairly decent feet. Besides, you’ve made great strides (pun intended) in drawing feet.

Aww, thanks. ^^ And that's a pretty good plan, actually. What could possibly go wrong?
