Description I've always been a fan of the Elder Scrolls games and have always thought of them and their representations as a sort of retelling of events that took place in this world. To me, the small map sizes were justified as part of a historical recount of the Oblivion Crisis etc. I have also always wanted to make a map of Tamriel set in the future. This map takes place in my headcanon for what Tamriel would look like in a time similiar to our late 1800s.

After Skyrim separated from the Mede Empire in 4E 201, High Rock followed suit and after Titus Mede's death without an heir, the Empire fell, becoming the Kingdoms of Stridentia, Nibenay and Colovia. Seeing this, the Aldmeri Dominion, now allied with Argonia's An-Xileel invaded the various Kingdoms in the Second Great War as the Argonians swept through Morrowind. The conflict lasted 4 years before an alliance of the Kingdom's of Camlorn, Northpoint, Evermor and Wayrest and the Empire of Skyrim came to assist the beligered nations. With Alliance support, the Argonians were pushed back from Morrowind and the Alltmer to the southern edge of Lake Rumare. Since then, the Aldmeri have become isolationist, waiting for their time to strike once more while Dunmer began to repopulate Vvardenfell leading to House Redoran forming the city of Redoria, which would grow to becoem the most powerful city in Morrowind and eventually forge an Empire. Camlorn and Wayrest both fought wars to conquer the rest of the High Rock peninsula and began colonizing Akavir and trading with the Yokudan Dynasty. Hammerfell splitnered after the war as the Crowns and Forebears formed the Kingdoms of Hammerfell and Khefrem.

Aldmeri Dominion: After turning to isolationism to build up it's military strength for another war, the Dominion faded into the shadows, growing powerful within them. It industrialized along with the rest of the world at the beginning of the Fifth Era and now is poised to join an alliance with their former enemy the Redorian Empire. Similiar to them, the Beastfolk of the region of Elseweyr were genocided soon after the Second Great War to make way for Altmer settlers. The Khajiit know only live in the regions they fled to avoid persecution, namely South Yokuda. The Bosmer are all but extinct.
Redorian Empire: After repopulating Vvardenfell, the city of Redoria was founded by House Redoran. But it's location near a deposit of valuable minerals made it richer and more populated then the rest of the island. When Argonia invaded for a third time in the Inner Sea War, Redoria led the rest of Morrowind to fight back. After that war ended it kept control of the region becoming the Redorian Empire. Because of it's resources it is the centre of all industrial growth besides Skyrim, it's sworn enemy. In the Reclamation War, the Redorian Empire conquered all of Argonia, killing Argonians in the millions. Those who escaped fled to Pyandonea, which became the Kingdom of New Argonia. Now, Argonia is thinly populated exclusivlely by Dunmer.
Empire of Skyrim: After gaining it's independence, the Empire of Skyrim expanded it's military in the hopes of preventing another Great War. When it came, it was the primary leader in the Alliance. After industrializing on a scale unmatched by any other nation, the Kingdom became an Empire, setting up colonies on Akavir and eventually purchasing Bruma and invading the Kingdom of Northpoint. It now sees itself as a Pan-Nordic Empire and is incredibly militaristic, constantly in competition with the Redorian Empire
Kingdom of Nibenay: After the Second Great War, the Kingdom of Nibenay has been a shell fo the former grandure the region they occupy once felt. Frequent coups during the early days of the Fifth Era plagued the country with unrest and the lack of industry has made it a laughing stock amongst other Tamrielic nations. But it's profound culture, especially in the sprawling city of Cyrod. The Pan-Cyrodiilism that has seen great success in Colovia has recently spread to Nibenay and a Union between the two countries seems to be inevitable in the coming years. but the Dominion and Redorian Empire are threatening war, should it occur.
Kingdom of Stridentia: It's name coming from the coast it rests on, Stridentia is tied to the seas. But in recent years this has become a problem as Altmer ships routinely harass Stridentian fishermen. The weak nature of it's military makes it easy pickings for the Dominion, which has led to increased interest in a Union in Cyrodiil in that region. However, it also holds a strong alliance with Khefrem, who has offered support in the event of an invasion and even formed an alliance during a war between them and Hammerfell over Stirk Island.
Kingdom of Khefrem: Hegathe is a modern power that has acted as a uniter of different nations, though it has always had a deep resentment for Hammerfell. Tensions over Khefrem and Hammefell have often led to conflicts such as the Yokudan War. But at this point the nations share a common enemy in Morrowind and the Dominion.
Kingdom of Colovia: Formed after the Empire's disolution in 201, the Kingdom of Colovia is a major player in geopolitics. It shares a strong alliance with Skyrim and has expanded much since it's founding especially after conquering great lands once part of Hammerfell. It is densely populated and rich in culture. Recently the powerful King of Colovia has embraced Pan-Cyrodiilism and hopes to make a Union between Stridentia and Nibenay. To make way for this, a railway is being constructed between these three nations.
Kingdom of Hammerfell: The black sheep of Tamriel, Hammerfell is an extremely poor country. Run by the Crowns, it's traditionalism meant it skipped out on the heyday of the Industrial Revolution leaving it lagging behind the rest of the world. It's Empire, which controls much of the islands of the Eltheric Ocean was once a rich and prosperous superpower but has been steadily decreasing in relevance. It's navy commands it's remaining power, being unmatched in naval capability. It's closest ally remains Yokuda.
Kingdom of Wayrest: Though smaller than it's neighbor to the West, the Kingdom of Wayrest has lapped Camlorn as a major colonial power. It controls the largest Empire on Earth, with it's holdings in Akavir and South Yokuda fueling their nations rule. However the Empire is declining while Camlorn is rising as a regional power and may soon usurp it. Wayrest holds a staunch stance of neutrality, making it deeply unpopular with pro-war nations such as Skyrim and Colovia. It often acts as a diplomatic middleman in the way of internal bickering and only goes out of it's way to protect itself and it's Empire.
Republic of Camlorn: The only republic in Tamriel, the Republic of Camlorn was forged after the Empire of Camlorn was overthrown in a violent revolution that created a democracy. It bousts an enormous military and is trying to beat Hammerfell as a naval power. An anti-Imperialist nation, it holds no overseas territories and has fought many wars with Wayrest since it's Revolution. It's relationship with Wayrest's former colony the Grand Republic of Asacia (derived from the word Tsaeci), which is an emerging great power has caused many problems with Wayrest. Camlorn is heavily industrialized, especially in the south.
