EDIT: TUTORIAL ON BODIES FOUND HERE: [link]When viewing a lot of Warriors groups, I noticed there were a lot of fans out there who are trying hard, but needed a few nudges in the right direction. That is why I created this tutorial.
Obviously, I am by no means an experienced pro, I just hope that this will help some people out. If this tutorial is received well, I will continue and do one on the body, and then perhaps a miscellaneous one for things such as expression.

Okay
With like, normal characters not based off some serise, like warriors, im okay with, but when it`s a warrior cat and it has, earrings, arm bands, tail rings, wings, (yes, there are those, i`ve seen them X^X) and long hair. It`s just pushing it, not to mention powers and forms.

Dude, the series was already pushing it with the whole amazing skills and magical stuff (I stopped reading at Long Shadows, so I dunno what it's like now).
Honestly, I just think a cat with neon fur, leg warmers, 2000 piercings, wings, and greasy emo bangs has pushed "it" right over the edge of a cliff. That's just me, though. In moderation it's fine. Heck, I'd probably give a cat a scarf to wear or something.

no, there aren't any cats in the books like that, i meant fan characters ^.^;
I don't really think the whole "powers thing" is really pushing it(for the 3) they`re just stronger senses, not something like fire breathing, which is something that some fan characters have. =/

it is a mythical book, or something like that, although, the fighting moves for sky clan are.......wtc.
they would somehow hold onto a low hanging branch with their forepaws and then swing at their enemies, and when i read about that move i was like, WTC.

As for the bangs, I don't really like them anymore, but I still draw them on certain charachters because they just don't look right without them.

Thanks! I know a certain artist who draws bangs on cats, and on her cats, they look exactly like they should be there. Now that you point it out, it seems be not only a combination of style/whether you can pull it off, but which character you're drawing. Thanks for telling me!

I think it's a trend someone started that has yet to fade out, but hopefully it'll get better soon.

A nice and easy-to-follow tutorial, I'm sure many will find this helpful! I still consider the sideview challenging, but studying photos and live cats is essential, as you emphasized. Whether your style is more realistic or cartoonish/animesque.

It's always confused me as to why people would do that. Another commenter mentioned that it just looks right on some cats (and I can agree with them), but there's such a thing as overdoing it.

amen to the fact that cats dont have freaky bang-like growths. that one thing thats always bugged me is that people draw the eyes when the hair is supposed to cover it.
