A buddy of mine told me about the original character battle competition over at: [link] It looked interesting, so I created an account to play around. I might actually get to do something with my useless doodling skills.

Oh yes... my character details. Well, first off, its completely different from the standard character I've seen so far in the roster and the previous tournament. This little guy has no set form, and exists purely as a magical creation, much the same way mages and sorcerers create rock golems and water elementals. However, rather than being created out of basic materials like that, the Shadow element is forged from the Yin Nature of life. its purpose was to hunt down and consume all evil in the world, but unfortunately, his creators never figured out how to split evil from an entity, and since all of life is composed of both yin and yang, this creature is an oddity all on its own. its masters were inevitably consumed by it, being in posession of yin nature themselves, and it has existed since then, slowly consuming everything and anything it can. since yin nature cannot exist without yang to balance it out, the yang nature slowly accumulates into a core of holy energy, keeping the yin nature stable.

the weird thing about it is that it is both an artificial organism in our world, and the body of an entirely different world. a world of people exists within it that it feeds off of constantly and never endingly. each host it eats becomes an immortal energy source, producing yin and yang energy, but is forever trapped in darkness both physically and mentally. the minds eventually split into yin and yang. the yin part becomes part of the shadow body, while the yang becomes part of the core. the total mass of bodies exist in a separate dimension contained in the shadow golem.

the shadow itself is made of pure solidified energy, able to change size as big or small as it wishes, not limited by the set mass and size rules that normal materials are confined by. the maximum size it can grow to is proportional to the total power of each entity it eats, but it can shrink as small as it wants. physical objects cause no change to its stability, but thermal, radioactive, and otherwise energy based forces will cause different effects.

one peculiarity of the shadow. it has an affinity for females. females are affiliated to the yin nature. this is both good and bad for females, since it will either show great erratic tendencies to help or harm them, depending on the situation, whereas with males it tends to ignore a bit more often than helping or harming.
