Description
Zaphod Beeblebrox, adventurer, ex-hippie, good-timer (crook? quite possibly), manic self-publicist, terrible bad at personal relationships, often thought to be completely out to lunch.~Douglas Adams
-------------
I think in a few versions he was also the inventor of the Pan-Galactic Gargle Blaster, in fact I'm pretty sure of it. But as any fan of any of the many Hitchhikers permutations will tell you, each medium which has the Guide's story inscribed to it, contradicts the others. Which calls into question the relevancy of people complaining about how much the film sucked, blew, or any of the adjectives in between.
When you think that Adams wrote three-quarters of the script before his untimely death
[peace be with you friend.]
then it really doesn't make sense when people complain that it's nothing like the books.
Well hey the books in their original inception were nothing like the Radio Drama series for the BBC that they were based on.
So get off your fan wagon, stop worrying so much and have a cup of hot tea.
So this is what I think The President of the Galaxy, Zaphod Beeblerox looks like...rather this is what has come out of my head as I attempted to draw him.
Cousin to Ford Prefect, lover of Trillian...Headache of Arthur Dent and pretty much the rest of the Galaxy.
And frankly I'm quite proud of him.
He's all...full of himself...
I love the head to the right...that's my favorite.
And yes I know his upper right arm looks abit quirky, but I'm not too worried about it.
I also tried to stray from both the Original BBC miniseries version of him, and the Film version. I seemed to have opted for a mixture of both with my own twist.
But yes.
Its Zaphod.
He's Building Bridges between the Stars.
Fullview!
It's better that way.
Also yes, that is a Pan-Galactic Gargle Blaster.

I never understood why people complained about the movie.

Because it doesn't exactly match the book. And book fans don't truly understand the process of film-making. It's extremely difficult to turn a book into a 2-hour script.

I love it. :3 I'm sadly uneducated and have only seen the movie and read the books...I know nothing about the TV or radio versions. But my gosh, this Zaphod is awesome. He's just too cool to be allowed. (Or so he thinks. XD) One of the hoopiest froods around, that's for sure. Next to Ford, of course.
Very nice job. ^^ BEEBLEBROX FOR PRESIDENT!

Hey, I loved the movie. You can even keep all the versions together based on the rules of the series... Each interpretation is just another way of looking at things. Another slice of the Whole Sort of General Mish-Mash.
Also, It's Douglas Adams's story, he can make it as many ways as he wants to.
I love this picture, by the way. This is the best Zaphod I've seen on dA so far, I have to say.

I also loved the movie.
And you're preachin' to the choir here, I have the same mindset about the many iterations of the guide, that you do.
Im glad you like it, Im currently working on an even better version.

Haha thanks!
I'm not even sure how I imagined him when I was reading the book initially...
But I think this design will suffice.
