She lost a touch of the weird cuteness in the transition to 3D, I think. XD But I still love it! And that's a real neat way of thinking about alternate spatial dimensions.

I think it might be because of small color differences. The skin around her eyes is dark blue in the sketch, but black in 3D, making her eyes seem a bit more ominous. And the "helmet and faceplate," for lack of better words, are also a lighter blue in the sketch, but look more like bone in 3D.

I bet the scene's lighting doesn't help either.

I love the background, and I'm sure in the context of the story it'll work just fine, but as an introductory piece for a character, dark ambiance and heavy shadows do tend to overshadow cuteness. XD Pun not intended.
