Just a collection of the icons for all the playable races in Hyrule Conquest. I'm very happy there's no more hardcoded limits.Edit: Whoops forgot all the non-playable ones.

A little late, but I would like to see if there are any plans to include the Ancient Robots from Skyward Sword. Perhaps they could be incorporated into the Guardians or some other Faction?

I read on the wiki that there are also a Malice faction and a Nightmares faction, neither of which are shown here. I know that wikis can be inaccurate sometimes, so are these two factions planned on being in the mod?

Can someone give a simple explanation for each faction and what Legend of Zelda game and species did they originate from?

Kingdom of Hyrule is the main Kingdom from most of the games. Zelda, Link, all that stuff.
Gerudo are desert amazonians led by Ganondorf, with content from both OoT and BoTW.
Gorons are rock people from Death Mountain. They're chill dudes, and dudes exclusively. OoT origins.
Zora Dominion are Zora from OoT. They're racial purists and generally huge assholes.
Kokiri are children from Ocarina of Time led by the Great Deku Tree. They're in tune with nature and also pretty chill.
Gohma are spiders originating, but not limited to OoT. Here, they're led by Sulkaris, a Sage and with Agitha and Mido as lesser regents.
Ordona Province is an agricultural province from TP. Unlike Hylians, Ordonians have human ears.
Lanayru Province are Hylian-Zora hybrids from TP. Unlike the Dominion, they're very liberal, sometimes to the point of degeneracy.
Deku Tribes are a collection of little plant-like creatures with tendencies in violence and buerocracy. The race is from OoT, but the tribes from MM.
Moblins are a collection of various creatures with "Blin" suffix from pretty much the entire series.Β
Darknuts are jackal people with black armour. Their apearence here is derived from TP and WW.
Lizalfos are a collection of various Werelacertas from OoT to BoTW. They're tribalists and make sacrifices.
Labrynna Regime is a kingdom from the Oracle Games. Their Queen has been tricked into building a huge tower by Veran.
Fairies of Tarm are a collection of various fairies from the entire series.
Stalfos are a collection of necromancers animating a bunch of corpses from the entire series.
Sheikah Cadre, originating in OoT are albino/blonde magic ninjas with red eyes and a tendency of incest.
Order of the Wizzrobe is a collection of Wizzrobes from the entire series, answering to Hylia from SS.
River Zora, or Zola are the original Zora from the first few games. They're barbaric degenerates.
Akkala is a coalition of Ancient Hylians (SS), Wind Tribe (mentioned in MC) and Picori (MC).
Volvagians are dragons from OoT. They've once enslaved Gorons and pact with Lizalfos.
Oocca are the weird sky chickens from TP. Here, they've got an independence day laser, robot bodies and giant robots.
Cult of Agahnim is partially based on LTTP, though more may come.
Guardians are a new addition from BoTW. They're the blue robots.
New Hyrule is from ST, but is predominantly based on WW and PH here.
Forsaken are Moblins, but ocean edition. They're led by a chap called Malladus, who is the classiest Moblin around.
Rito are bird people from WW, but are more like the ones from BoTW here.
Parella are squid people from SS. These ones worship Bellum.
Koroks are the evolved forms of Kokiri. They've now become plants and started giving feces to others. They're from WW.
Lost Gorons are an ocean Goron colony based on the Dongorongo boss from PH.
Anouki are Teletubbies from PH. They're got a bit of a more adult design in this.
Cobble Kingdom is a PH kingdom awoken from hibernation. They've got a thing for building giant robots.
Koholint is an island from LA created by the Windfish.
Lokomo are a near excint-race of mechanics from ST.
Clock Town is the Hylian civilization in Termina from MM.
Dark Deku Scrubs, also from MM are just the previous Deku, but a bit more sinister.
Darmani's Fallen, from MM are ice Gorons.
Great Bay Zora are MM's Terminian Zora. They've got kelp and giant turtles.
Kingdom of Ikana, also MM is a dead kingdom that had a civil war destroy everyone.
Yiga are Sheikah traitors from BoTW.
Lorule is a mirrored version of Hyrule with characters lacking their respective qualities from ALBW.
Church of Majora is Majora's personal way of being cool like the Goddesses.
Midna's Exiled are Midna's forces in the second Twili Civil War.
Dynasty of Mizorant are Zant's TP forces.
Fairies of Twilight are original.
So are the Bonemold.
And so are the tribes of Nether Rifts.
And so is the Kingdom of Oorgath.

Lol Lon Ranch is a miniregion of Hyrule known for horses and milk from OoT.
Zuna are cactu- I mean lizards from FSA that build golden pyramids and pact with Darknuts.
Keatons originate from MM, but their cartel is original.
Subrosians are Zelda's Jawas from OoS. They mine and live underground.
Huskus are Neph's original race of mantis people with unexplained random polymorphism.
Tokay are turtle people from OoA. They're pretty stupid. In terms of intelligence, I mean.
Horonians are lesser villagers from OoS. They worship nature and their leader has a sexy beardstache.
Haunts are various Poes from the entire series.
Gorons of the Rolling Ridge are an original race loosely based on green-tinted Gorons from OoS and possibly the Stone Mask.
Lynels of Labrynna are unknown right now, thought it is assumed they are based on LTTP's Lynels.
Witches' Coven are witches led by Maple from LTTP.
Kikwi are cute birbs from SS.
Mogma are weird moles from SS. They mine a lot.
Skull Kids are half-dead half-alive half-deranged Kokiri.
Blind's Thieves are a cartel of thieves from LTTP. Neph, if you're reading this, please make a Lorulean counterpart with Stalblind.
Mountain Minish are from MC. As obvious, they are Picori living on Mt.Crenel.
Calatia is a weird kingdom founded by King Gustaf's family, I think. It's from old Zelda comics.
Arcadia is a remote kingdom from the Zelda TV show.
Storm Zora are an original race loosely based on the old Zora from Gameboy games and possibly the Angler Fish boss.
Gerudo Pirates are Gerudo from MM. Not much to say.
Mermaids are succubi from the Gameboy games.
Yook Nomads are a Yeti race from PH.
Windfall Island are people from WW's Windfall Island.
Piratians are pirates from the Oracle Games.
Romani Ranch is MM'S version of Lon Lon Ranch. These also produce alcohol.
Deku Monkeys are Deku Monkeys. Not much else to say.
Garo Ninjas are a race of spies and assasins from MM. Here's me hoping they get revealed to be chimpanzees.
Cythans seem to be a byproduct of the Eclipse. They're original.
Myxloids are sentient mushrooms. Also original.
Nocturn are another ghost thing from ST.
Silent Ones are challenge constructs from SS.
Phantom Army is an army of posessed armor from PH that wiped the Lokomo.
Them are aliens from MM.
And Eclipse is an original "race" of 4-dimensional forces of nature.

How will the non-playable factions work in conquest? Will they just randomly waltz on the map or will you still absorb them?

They appear on maps depending on region. As an example Lon Lon Ranch appears on Hyrule Field, the Zuna appear in the Gerudo Desert, Gerudo Pirates on coastal maps, etc. They can be either absorbed or conquered, with some factions having bonuses in either direction. The Wizzrobes will be able to more easily and peacefully absorb them, while a faction like Labrynna has a stronger ability to conquer and enslave them.

Why aren't they grouped later on the list with the other Majora's Mask based factions?

Yes, Calatia is the land that Link originates from in the Valiant comics.
The Gerudo Pirates can be found almost anywhere there is water, they are not limited to the Great Sea.
Lon Lon is a privately run operation, though Hylians buy most of their horses from there.
