~~The Carnifex~~

“In the vastness of the cosmos; no greater a parasite has been spread throughout the realms than the great Beelzebub's most beloved and malevolent children... The Carnifex...”

- The Three Fates

In a nut shell, The Carnifex, is my race of over sized insects that have infested every corner of the Zodiac Universe. Much like the xenomorphs of the Alien Franchise [link] or “the Bugs” [link] of Star Ship Troopers. I wanted to create my own race of endless infesting bug like creatures that plague the universe. So, I created the Carnifex.

I'm not sure yet where I'm going to take the Carnifex race. I have planned out several ideas. One, they have several characteristics of arachnids and beetles. They have a tough carapace protecting them on the outside and heavy duty skeletal system.

As for the insect hierarchy, I'm not sure what kind of insect colony I'd like to use. Maybe termites. Termites have Queens, Kings, Workers and Warrior classes in the colony. When a colony gets to big, a Young Queen and King will fly off and create a new colony.

Also, some termite species, the King is the most important one in the colony because it's the only male in the entry colony with several Queens producing eggs. Anyway, I got lots to think about.

Here are a few Carnifex Head Concepts. I have more that I'll scan and post at a later date. This is just to give you an idea of what the Carnifex look like.
