I decided to give my little "Transformation" strip a makeover. For those of you who don't know, this is where Terence makes the official transition from unicorn to man. This is from my original novel that I plan to publish someday (hopefully) soon.

This new version will be longer, more intricate, more detailed, and more gripping.

Of course, you already know Terence. The elf is Aldridge, a young forest elf who possesses magical abilities but can't really execute them properly, and the girl is Wendye (yes, it is supposed to be spelled that way), a homeless and orphaned human. She's about 19; Aldridge is somewhere around 17. They are also my OCs, whom I've regretfully neglected this past year. I resolve to give them both a little more of the spotlight from now on.

Yes, I know this is reminiscent of The Last Unicorn. I'll admit, my story was initially inspired by that novel, but I promise, my novel is WAY different from Mr. Beagle's. I am NOT a plagiarist. There is a difference between basing your work off someone else's work, and claiming someone else's ideas as entirely your own. Mr. Beagle isn't the only guy in the world who can write about a unicorn becoming human, after all; and besides, his book already references other works. I see plenty of snippets from other books and poems scattered about in there.

Furthermore, when you really think about it, there aren't that many "completely original" stories around here anymore. Almost everything you read or watch these days is reminiscent of, however subtly, at least one thing or another.
