What was Doc's fail? Answer: He made the same mistake as Lightning did on his first try, he missed to turn the tires left first to get the direction before drifting.
I thought that watching Doc fail, too, would be gorgeous

Oh my goodness...I can't even begin to explain how lovely this is!
Okay, first things first--the first thing that caught my eye was the colouring and texture. The colouring is very smooth and glossy, yet granite. (I am assuming you used coloured pencils for this). The colours are also very eye-catching, but not too distracting. As for the texture--what else can I say except that I just want to run my hand over this drawing and feel it! And A+ on the shading--I still can't shade half as good!
As for the characters--what else can I say except that the way you draw Doc and Sheriff is phenomenal! I love how your versions look semi-realistic and chibi/cute at the same time. " I don't know if that is the art style you wish to develop, but if you do, let me say you got some real talent for it!
And the dialogue--it's brilliant, witty and completely in character. And I just love how Doc makes the same mistake as Lightning did and crashes into a cactus! Plus his expression at the end is completely priceless! I am so happy that you like my coloring pencils work, I don't often draw with pencils as it's harder to create smooth gradients but I like it. Thank you so very much, comments like these really make an artist's day

I don't do much work with pencils either, partially because I haven't got good artist pencils and partially because I find them very difficult to work with (digital art is more of my forte) so I really admire anyone who can colour with them as well as you can!

Oh, what a pity you don't have good pencils. If you like, you could take a look at Faber Castell pencils. Also a little box works out, so you invest a bit of money only. I'd recommend Watercolor pencils. You can use them as pencils but you could also treat them with water to make watercolors out of them.

PS It's awesome! Alhtough I think it's a pity that Cars 2 and Cars 3 was made only via Digital Art, not traditional Art like Cars 1. I love these traditional works.

I'll definitely look into those! Thank you so much! The ones I use are Rose-Art, which are SUPPOSED to be good pencils but....they're not much better than crayons. XD

I did notice there was a lot more digital concept are for the other two films. I still think they turned out beautifully. But I have got to agree, you cannot beat traditional art because of all the time and hard work put into it. Every brush stroke and angle has to be done by hand. I've always admired old cartoons for that. I can't imagine drawing all of those images and having to get them consistent in order to make the animation look realistic!

Yes, that's the point I think. You can easily put together some digital art objects to a sketch and it's already done. I have seen that the creators also used matte painting for the sketches (copying a photo into the sketch) and... Well, I fear that the heart goes lost someday if everything is digital.

It would be a shame to see traditional art become extinct if everyone turned digital. Traditional is still very important, and even I still use it when drawing character outlines and such.Β
