5 years ago I posted a shot of a short stack of chainmaille patches.5 years I have been making more, sometimes not touching them for months.
Yesterday, I broke the 100 bits landmark.
so I wanted to take a shot of that to celebrate.
now I will turn these into a pair of sleeves. and then make more.
surface per square: 4,5 x 4,5 cm
1,3mm stainless steel in 5 mm rings
Euro 4-1
Weight, 21 grams per patch.
looking at well over 2 Kg here.

to be honest, making aa full hauberk out of this is pure clouddreaming, it might be done by the time I'm 50 or something, and it'd weigh about 15 kg's by then.

I just use someΒ galvanized steel. And for the rod that i make the rings with is 12mm thick so the righs themself turn out about 16mm. It may be bigger then whats recomended but i didnt have anyother rod to do i with, but i dont really care, itΒ΄s still alot of fun though Β

it's fun in all ring-sizes, but the resulting pieces 'feel' very different.
I recall doing a sample similar to yours, as an idea for an overcoat.
