Description
The relief sculpture shown in the 1995 version of Ghost in the Shell. It's only seen for about 5 seconds during the Spider Tank battle in the abandoned museum, and it becomes obscured by the animation cells showing bullet holes.
The diagram actually depicts various genus and family of fish and terminates with "hominis" at the top. This is a genitive form of "homo" meaning the species has some connection to humans. There are no fish with this species name.
Here is a brief explanation of each label:
lophiidae - (family) Goosefish
raja - (genus) Skates
hominis - (species?) nope
pristis - (genus) Sawfish
latimeria - (genus) Coelacanth
siluriformes - (order) Catfish
conpridae - probably a recycled copy of congridae
muiaenidas - muraenidae (family) Moray eels
anguillidae - (family) freshwater eels
synodontidae - (family) Lizardfishes
callichthidae - callichthyidae (family) Catfishes
congridae - (family) Conger eels
chimaeridae - (family) Shortn nose chimeras
lophiomus - (genus) Goosefish
siluriformes - (order) Catfish [again]
hiostomidae - branchiostomidae (family) Lancelets
acipenseridae - (family) Sturgeon
malapterurus - (genus) Electric catfish
the border labels look like recycled versions of latimeria, siluriformes, and chimaeridae

Great job dude. I've got Hiromasa Ogura's artbook and in it there's a nice clean full page shot of the tree. I uploaded it to imgur so you can see the rest of the labels. imgur.com/gallery/GzSmgyq

He included wider borders! If only the book had all the detailed backgrounds as full page versions.
