The only things I like about Eclipse are the ability to like comments and to load more of a person’s status updates. It would have been nice if they just added those to the classic site.

For a long time I was absent but now and then I have a look in here and have to say that I have a strong dislike of Eclipse. Fortunately, there is still the option to set the old layout, but who knows how much longer?
Most members on Deviantart hate Eclipse. It simply has no style, the picture preview looks horrible and Pixelart is so distorted that it spoils my mood. The same applies to the stamps and the group icons.
It is so uncreative and the art goes under. Is that what the staff at Deviantart really want? That the members disappear here and core members stop their payments?
Eclipse is not eye-friendly, looks like a flat plagiarism of Artstation, the black or white that just looks too brutally ugly for the user. You lose the overview. Where was the creativity left?
I can only hope that the employees or administrators think twice about what they are doing there. Because it makes us, the community angry, that the employees do not give a damn what the community reall

I signed the petition and joined the A Moment of Silence Movement. I hate the website is going downhill because of DeviantArt Eclipse being the permanent layout when it doesn't look original and has constant issues. But I hate the staff are allowing so many things that is illegal like art theft and child porn. When I joined DeviantArt back in 2014 everything was so much better because there was not a lot of disgusting fetishes and porn photos of someone's genitals making up the front page and search engine like inflation; Core membership and DeviantArt Eclipse didn't exist; llamas were not so rampant in notifications; the website was it's own independent website and not part of Wix; art thieves, trolls, cyber bullies, scammers, and spammers were banned for harassing, stealing, or taking advantage of people; the DeviantArt admins were actually concerned about the website and community and not being hypocrites; many features that were part of the website were actually good like the webcam widget; the report deviation was actually useful to report anything against the website like child porn of real or fictional characters like the cast of My Hero Academia who are 15-16 and the artists who did this were arrested; and the old logo looked like a DA and not a unequal sign.

You know that most of the people who draw those are teenagers who put on their account that they're older to look and create that kind of content? I know many of such teens, and I myself when I was a kid (9 yrs old) I signed in any website I joined as I adult so I could watch adult content, such as porn. I guess I was awakened earlier than most. Btw, I found it by accident when I was very little, and became addicted to it to my parents ignorance.
Anyway, you know in many countries the consent age is 13, 14, and 16? Why should child porn be what goes against Americans' standards? Heck, to me as in a great part of the world a 14 yr old is an adult capable of making his own decisions, not a child.

What are you doing? Like what do you think you're accomplishing if you're not only implementing a new "layout change" that has a ton of technical issues but also inevitably making it the permanent website design for all users? I get that people don't like change, but holy actual shit this "eclipse" layout is a dumpster fire and there's nothing that can make it good. If you guys didn't have the option to use the "classic" layout as of right now, this platform's daily user activity would be at an all time low.
Not one time, in the history of the internet, has a major social media website (YouTube, Facebook, Twitter etc) ever reverted it's layout or UI back to a previous incarnation because of "user base backlash". You know why that is?
They don't care about what their users think or say. It doesn't matter how many people bitch and moan about it, doesn't matter how many people submit feedback forms that specifically ask them to chang Just making sure this gets a signal boost.

I want to kill eclipse with all the fire of hell and I especially want that damn toggle switch for it gone from the top of my page. I hit it accidently a few weeks ago and I found myself in a state of limbo where the layout was so convoluted you couldn't find anything with half the site broken and the rest took ages to partially load. Was so happy when I got back to classic.

Somebody tested eclipse, and he experienced a horrible lag. The design sucks ass, he can no longer reach his messages other than notes, and he cannot toggle back to the old format. He had to use Mozilla Firefox to turn it off. Others have had this issue as well. This sucks beyond measure that I cannot describe you. That is what I heard from him. DON’T USE ECLIPSE! If you do that, you will regret.

So I'm sure all of you are aware of DeviantArt Eclipse, the new update that's probably gonna be launched sometime next year. Well, I got a core membership, became a beta tester, and decided to have a look at the update myself...
It's awful. And I really mean that, it is absolutely terrible... The layout, the design, the navigation... EVERYTHING. It all mashes into one big clusterfuck of complication, and it just doesn't look good at all... But there's hell of a lot more wrong with DeviantArt Eclipse. So let's have a look at all the reasons why DA Eclipse is as bad as everyone is saying it is.
