Description You’ve met the Children of Hidden Leaf [link] , and the Children of the Sand [link] ; now, I’m pleased to present the Uchiha addition to my GeNeratioNs crew, the ‘Children of the Shadow.’

Some of you may have noticed that, after my first two “GeNeratioNs” pics, all of the young kunoichi in the Narutoverse seemed to be already taken, and poor Sasuke was left all alone. If you did notice this, you probably assumed that I would a) find a character from the anime, like I did for Kankuro and Gaara, b) create an OC, like I did for Kiba, or c) do something crazy like pair him with Tsunade…but…
…surprise, surprise, there was ONE girl from the manga left! From chapter 354, to be exact. And she just so happens to be one of my favorite Sasuke-ships. Convenient, that...
Her name is Nekoko (sometimes translated as ‘Little Cat’ and she is (along with her grandmother and a horde of tankui) the guardian of one of the Uchiha safehouses. Is she human? A tankui? As I’ve never seen (and can’t read) the untranslated version, I can’t be sure, but she seems human enough, and she definitely knows Sasuke…

In the world of GeNeratioN, Sasuke rejoined his old Konoha nakama during the last effort to save Naruto and prevent the Akatsuki from recovering the Tailed Beasts, but soon after the Akatsuki’s defeat left the village once again, unable to cope with the ghosts of the past. He was followed by the male elements of team Hebi (Karin also followed for a short time, but returned to Konoha after encountering and becoming enamored with a certain bug-filled shinobi during a mission). The trio returned to the Uchiha safehouse and set up a base of operations, which eventually expanded and became known as Kumorigakure (the Shadow village) due to the secretive nature of the location and inhabitants…

GeNeratioNs: Children of the Shadow

  • Asu (Tomorrow) is, at 18 years of age, the first-born of Sasuke and Nekoko. Of all the siblings he is the only one who did not inherit the Sharingan, but he did inherit his mother’s night vision and cat-like grace in full measure. He takes his responsibilities as first born very seriously and does his best to live up to everyone’s high expectations. He has a special bond with young Hayai, and keeps a weather eye out for his littlest brother at all times.

  • Quietly disciplined, 15-year-old Yoru (Night) takes after her maternal grandmother. She is also the most diplomatic of the Uchiha brats and tries to act as peacemaker between her other siblings and parents, though sometimes the strain of doing so can drive her off the deep end. Like her younger siblings, Yoru inherited the Sharingan from her father, but unlike the rest she was born with weak eyes, and these have only worsened with age. She has been forbidden to use the Sharingan by her parents in the hopes of preserving what little eyesight she has left.

  • Gentle Aki (Autumn) is the middle child at 13. Of all the siblings, it is Aki who takes after their mother the most, in both looks and temperament; he is playful child, ever-helpful and eager to please. Outsiders might believe him to be a little slow, as he is extremely shy around strangers and rarely speaks. But if you can win his trust you will find a brightly vivacious child with a sweet, loving nature…albeit with an absurd passion for string. Aki is closest to Minami, and is usually seen within the proximity of his younger sister.

  • Minami (South) does not see eye-to-eye with her parents. She inherited a cat-like independence from both her father and her mother, and has at the tender age of 12 become so deeply engrossed in teenage rebellion that it is already threatening to cause a serious rift in the family. Too sharp-tongued and quick-witted for her own good, the only one who has any sort of tolerance for her mannerisms is her devoted brother Aki. Underneath all the teenaged angst and drama, this little girl really does love her family (even if she does avoid ‘touchy-feely’ moments like the plague), but she is determined to satisfy her curiosity about the outside world, come hell or high water, no matter what her family’s opinions might be…

  • Hayai (Quick) The youngest but quite arguably the brightest of the lot, 9-year-old Hayai is already showing signs of his father’s and uncle’s genius, and is quickly becoming the hidden enclave’s rising star. He is also the only one of the siblings to have inherited Nekoko’s cat-like night vision as well as Sasuke’s Sharingan. Unfortunately, Hayai is well aware of his position, and like most 9-year-olds he has a tendency to let his exalted status go to his head. Luckily he still has a case of hero-worship for his oldest brother Asu and pays rapt attention to anything the young man tells him. Deft, well-meaning exploitation of this bond has allowed his family to keep the little boy’s feet on the ground without having to resort to harsher methods.

    Thanks!

    ...

"I find that actually QUITE disturbing..."

    That's exactly why!

...I have a very weird mind...for some reason the two intense personalities just seem to go together like...like Mai and Zuko, or something... But then, I usually check my sanity at the door when it comes to fandom...

    Your welcome!

    ...

    That's EEEEvil.

    ...

    They are two intense personalities,

But i think i could definately see MaixZuko happening WAAAY before any sort of hint of ShinoxKarin.

    ...

    ....It's still disturbing.

    ...

    ...think of the children...

    ...

    ...

    I am now DEEPLY scarred.

Been there, done that, I'm afraid. Just one kid, goes by the name of Nanda Aburami. At seventeen, he's one of the oldest of my GeNeratioNs crew. Solitary by nature but not bipolar like Karin. Whether or not his parents are together at the moment is anyone's guess, but it's my belief they currently are, though the relationship tends to range to both extremes...

    Sorry for any emotional scarring...

    Hmm, Sasuke's kids...

(Oh... and much thanks for the spoilers... I read too fast and before I realised I'd just spoiled the plot of the anime for myself *utterly*... Kidding )

You have, dear heart, a strange penchant for drawing small children (even the eighteen year old looks rather young, but maybe that's my old age catching up to me...) I'd be concerned if you weren't quite so brilliant at it ^^

That, and the back-story is just really well done, even the cliche's are turned out in their best sunday clothes and sound new when you put them in like that. Tried and tested story-telling tools meets naruto fan-fiction and fan-art; got to love it.

And personally, I like this one better than the last two, just because... well actually (and forgive me for this) Sasuke really needs to get laid at some point.
That's actually a rather snobbish phrase... I know what I mean, but from the sound of this nobody else will...

Okay, I'll put it this way; Sasuke needs a determined young woman, or in true anime methods, a hopelessly romantic, ditsy one, who'll worm her way into his twisted psyche and pry it open far enough to let the love back in. He needs a shock to the system, and a good woman is the only kind that'll work (I always think that if Naruto finally beats him then it'll only make matters worse, not better). It's good that you found him one XD

Heh, onwards and whichever way you're supposed to be going kid ^^

Spoilers? What spoilers? The only real spoiler-thingy is Ms. Cat-girl there...the rest is pure, 100% hyperactive, fan-girl driven imagination. Trust me, when I start giving REAL spoilers about events surrounding a fan character, you'll know. I reference everything, at least to chapter, preferably to page and panel.
As to Sasuke, though, I agree...he needs to find a lover, both emotionally and...well...let me put it this way. I suspect that, given a 'reliable way to relax,' he'd become a completely different person in no time flat...

So... what? You mean Sasuke doesn't actually ally with the Leaf to take out Akatsuki when they make their move against Naruto and the other Jinchuuriki's and then leave again shortly after? And there really *is* a cute blonde with night vision and and and...

    Kidding, honestly ^^

If I had to put it a little more sagely; Sasuke needs something else to be strong for, something that will divert him from revenge every time, and something that he can both care for and protect in return for being cared for and protected. In other words, a girl but I'm re-iterating here.
