BIO

Eric had enjoyed the brief conversation with Dr. Tatopoulis, but it didn't yield enough information to really whet his never ending appetite for knowlege. He looked about, using Tatsuo's PGODA to guide him, until he came upon another strange room. It looked like any ordinary chemistry lab you'd find in high schools all over America, except this one was much more well equipped. But, who he was looking for was nowhere to be seen. As Eric turned to walk out, though, he bumped into someone, knocking a lot of papers to the floor. As he apologized frantically and helped to pick them back up. But then he noticed just who this person was.

"You're.... Elsee Chapman, aren't you?"

She looked around, sarcastically saying,

"Who? I don't see any- oooh, you must mean me."

"Yes, you look just like your picture. American woman, red hair starting to gray, early forties-"

"Oh, you're a reeeal casanova, y'know that?" She got up, papers back in hand. As she passed him, she said,

"So, what business do have here?"

"Oh, right. My name is Eric Goldwin, G-Force recruit. Or something like that. I have free time, and I was wondering if you could tell me about the Zilla incident."

Elsie looked at him with a rather strange face, one of bemusement and almost resentment. But, then she said,

"Oh, don't get me started on all of that." She said with a surprisingly tired voice. She walked over a table, set down the papers, and took off her glasses, rubbing one of her temples.

"That year and a half following Nick around was fun at the time, but it got old, let me tell you. I mean, I'm a biologist, and I was called into the Zilla investigation because my field of study was similiar to Nick's. But, then he got the crazy idea of raising the baby, and he made me swear to keep quiet about it. Because of that, I had to spend a year and a half as fugitive of the United States Government!!"

Eric was a bit shocked at the force of her words. But, he was overall undettered. He would have his information.

"I spoke to Dr. Tatopoulis, and he mentioned you were being smuggled into the U.S. by a member of the French Secret service. What happened there?"

Elsee leaned forward, propping her head on her right hand. She looked slightly annoyed.

"My, you are persistent. I haven't spoken to Nick or Monique in years, so I don't know what they might have told you. But, I'm free for 45 minutes, and I admire your fortitude. Sit down."

Eric did as she asked, never breaking eye contact with her.

"Monique snuck us into, of all places, Lousiana. The boat we took was left in the swamp, taking only what equipment we needed. I was, at the time, a little too adrenaline fueled. I was eager to study some curious plant life I found, but Monique, unfeeling as she is, gave no time for any of us. Tension rose, Nick trying to mantain the role of the peace maker. Randy wouldn't stop shutting up about how awesome Zilla looked fighting, and wished he was back in Jamaica. Mendel.... was allergic to 97 % of the flora and fauna there.

We made our way through the swamp on foot, hoping we weren't being led into a trap. But, we were spotted. There was an old cajun man, skin bronzed by constant exposure to the hot Southern sun. He had what looked like skin cacer spots all over his body. He asked us where we came from, in French. I was actually glad to have Monique around, as she was the only one there that could reply. She said we came from far away. He then warned us of the swamp, and that it did not harbor those who would bring harm, or some cryptic language like that. Monique only said we were passing through, when the man looked to the side, a look of surprise on his face.

A roar broke out over the cypress trees. A familiar roar. We turned to run, but I, seemingly, was the only one to realize the old cajun was gone. I don't know what happened, but we were just focusing on our survival at that point. Monique got us far, and we were out of the swamp by the next afternoon. Nick and Randy were wanting to go back, and I was near tempted to let them, to be honest with you.

We stayed in a nearby town for a few days, Monique telling us to lay low until transportation arrived. A newspaper article came out that looked like something in a tabloid. Giant lizard fights swamp monster, or something. The townsfolk treated it like a joke, but their eyes said differently to me.

Well, a few days later, a truck arrived, and we were all expected to stow away with the cargo. I just knew we were heading into trouble, but, at least I got to talk with nick for a while."

Eric wasn't sure if his ears were working properly, but her wistful face seemed genuine enough.

"Do you-?"

Elsee froze.

"Uh... forget that! Anyway, I could feel we were headed into trouble. Big, scaly trouble."

[link] I mostly based it off of this guy from Godzilla the series, but I took elements from other famous swamp beasts from comics as well.
