Edit: Removed some text here because I am currently repurposing this OC for a new story, along with many of my other characters.
His design is different now.

Well colour me impressed... I can't even begin to imagine how long this must've taken you, but I am thoroughly impressed. Going by both the description and the title itself I can't help but smile at how beautifully this artwork turned out.

I'm unsure what sort of fantasy world you've sought out to create, but under the assumption that Solarius is worshiped as a Sun God which to some degree does imply a masculine origin for Solarius even if the concept of angels in your continuity are androgynous, but none the less design wise he is perfectly reflective of all that would be expected of such a divine being.

The orange and red colour scheme with a golden halo/ring behind him (which seems pretty reflective of the sun rising and setting) with the size of the wings expanding across the clear blue skies, creating a vacuum that disperses the clouds as if it was giving way to a god among the Earth's atmosphere.

I love the glow effect you've managed to place upon the sun halo and the spheres of energy Solarius has summoned, a small taste of his power to whet the appetite of those who would foolishly think to act in rebellion against him.

However given his emotionless stare I'm guessing that being an Angel has robbed him of petty desires for anger and hatred... As far as I know anyway, I have yet to look into your fantasy setting for the full details.

Although I do imagine that if Solarius was to summon his full power his entire body would become engulfed in the fiery blaze of 1000 suns should he seek retribution.

If there is one detail that I love about this artwork is that it perfectly conveys the idea that this was painted by one of Solarius's acolytes, as if to depict him in the most angelic light possible, similar to how Renaissance painters had done for Christian Gods and Angels a few centuries ago. X3 Its a nice aesthetic choice.

I'm a tad surprised that this artwork has so few views because after taking a look at this, I can't imagine how painstakingly long it must've taken you to make this artwork as brilliantly as you've managed to make it thus far.

I'll also admit to being a little more than interested into learning about the mythology you're creating here. This fantasy story of yours sounds pretty cool and I'm wondering what sort of world Solarius inhabits.

: ) But in any case I figured I'd show you my support by posting this, if not for the sake of showing my appreciation for how long it took you to draw this, then most definitely for the idea of Solarius himself as an Angelic God.

I just want to say this is one of the best comments I've ever gotten on here. Your interpretation got many things right.

Its been too long since I've drawn this to remember exactly, but it took me at least 40-50 hours or so (thankfully I've gotten faster since then), so I'm really grateful someone noticed how hard I worked on this.

I'll be posting more artworks about my characters over time.

: ) Ah, glad I could make your day, but HOLY HELL 40-50 hours!!!

Dude, I am very glad all that time and effort you spent pouring into that artwork paid off because this still looks absolutely fantastic!

I'm pretty excited to see some more of your characters pop up in the future and especially to learn more about the world you're creating. The mythology sounds fascinating.

Brilliant work man!

If I may, I think some bright yellow on the wings would help with the sun theme, adding some sort of glow effect aside from his power and halo.

Thank you
I've thought about adding some glowing letters in angelical (language based on Enochian) on his wing.

i would like to see your construction under the character since it's hard to see if there is not something you could've change even at this level.

Now that this is said, the composition of the drawing is really static (by that i mean that if you cut the image in two, you have almost the prefect reflection. try avoid this kind of composition as it won't be eye catching).

If you want to make a good color choice over a character, try to save the line art and make a lot of version of it on a grey background you will be able to see what works better and for which atmosphere.

also, when you are making a character, try to keep unusefull details as low as possible (by that i mean when you look at the detail does it helps to understand how the body is place or what is my character doing).

Finaly, my personnal POV on your drawing. i think that the feather are a bit too large and not stiff enough (like real feathers are stiff at the base and a bit flexible at the point so you can try to make your wings more expressive over the feather) the background is a bit too dark for a sunny theme. over that i think you are on a good path just keep practicing and doing some essays. (sorry for my english it's not my native language)

I agree about keeping the eyes blue. If you made them red, they'd blend in with the rest of the figure. As a matter of fact, the only really issue with this design is now the wings blend in with the rest of him. I would recommend figuring out a way to put a little contrast between the wings and the rest of the figure. I won't tell you how, but if you manage better contrast, the eye will better appreciate the individual features of his design. This is otherwise a very strong design.

My pleasure. Keep making awesome things. Our angels should play together sometime!

I like the blue eyes, it brings some contrast and that unusual wingshape.
The armor flows visually well with those repeted elements. Just watch out for the functionallity. I'm a bit concerned about the inner tigh "spines" since I'm not sure if they limit movement or not.

Does Solarus mainly use magic or is there another main fighting style?

Thank you
I intended for the "spines" to be somewhat loose in that they will move out of the way if his legs push on them, but I'm not sure how to make that apparent in a drawing.
I'm still working out what exactly he can do because the story is in the early stages, so this might change, but what I got worked out right now is that he is better with magic like most angels, but is excellent with a sword as well. What he uses depends on how close they are to him. If they are right next to him, he uses a sword. If they are further away, he forms a light energy ball like the two shown in the drawing. The ball explodes on contact with the other person.
