I was wondering when Andy's mom would make another appearance? Wonder no longer.
Injecting real world scenarios into fantasy fiction gives the work much needed relevance. Any accomplished author knows this. If the fictional work is exceedingly fantastical then there is no sense of consequence and it becomes unrelatable to general audiences. The inclusion of the single mother working to exhaustion to provide and support her family, is a scenario that is all too real in this day and age. It gives the comic a much needed weight to it.
