Description
This is the Lexicon. It is the understanding of all manner of things not understood. It is Knowledge. Knowledge banishes fear and prejudice. Knowledge opens our eyes to everything possible and humbles us to everything we do not know. The more me learn of something unfamiliar and strange, the less frightening it becomes. We can accept it. With acceptance, prejudices fall away from us, opening doors to even more avenues of learning. Life is the journey of learning these things, of finding our place in life and learning all we can in our niche so we can make a difference somewhere, somehow. We can never really know everything even within the smallest section of learning, there is always something new, but we keep trying.~~~~~~~~~~~~
A collaboration with *balaa . I chose one of her sketches, changed the wings, and colored it, probably not how she imagined. :3 Another one for RainFurrest!

Wow, you sure have been doing a lot of collaborations lately.
I really love this piece, the coloring is totally awesome. You've put so much detail into the fur, feathers, etc. that I'm just speechless.
Great use of colored paper here as well. The pinkish color makes for a great base. :]

The Lexicon... I love the description of it. Until now I had no idea what it was. (Still don't xD)
The detail are... Amazing. Simply put, that is. It's ridiculous how much detail you can shove into a picture like that.

What type of paper did you use? I love how you used the lighting and the colors. i almost thought there were pastel but the texture was wrong for pastel

It's Canson Mi-Tientes, which is a kind of pastel paper, but I used them with colored pencils. The texture hold a lot of layers and a lot of abuse. :>

That is definitely good paper for the medium, I have issues with paper not taking the layers and such....

I love mixing colors together! I usually don't have any idea what I'm doing when I'm working, I just grab colors that *might* look good. Thank you for your comment!

How funny, i was going to mention it was like an artistic 6tgh sense, but decided against it. X3 Well, the only way I can describe it, and it still sounds silly, is that when I work on something, I will begin to see the color I need to use next as if it's already there. The same thing happens when I do fur texuring. I see the fur before it's really there, and trace them with my pencils. I know, it's wierd.

Well, no one is normal, anyways
