Fluttercord is definitely canon. I’m kidding of course, I will admit though I’m slightly annoyed hasbro shipped teased so many pairings in the finale rather than just being straight up about them? Oh well, at least it gives the fans room for interpretation. Still not my cup of tea though. Anyway all the negativity aside I adored the finale and it was hands down the most satisfying ending to a show I’ve ever seen. I’ve been watching My Little Pony since I was 12, Im almost 20 now holy shit. What did you guys think about all the ship teases? Do you like them being ambiguous or would you rather have seen a fat sappy kiss between your favorite characters??

i love it. I have defended this ship since 2014 so I am so happy that they did a final fluttercord nod in the finale. to me it's my canon evidence. thank you for the beautiful picture.

Soon after the near-tragic "Battle of the Bell", Discord was put on trial for his role in the conflict, and given a somewhat reasonable verdict by Princess Twilight Sparkle. As punishment for summoning and encouraging known fugitives of Equestria, Discord would be turned to stone and placed in the Canterlot Garden. As a reward for his part in bringing those fugitives to justice, the sentence would only last thirty moons, and Discord would be granted one short parole each week to converse with garden visitors and change the pose of his statue.

I have that feeling too and I'm quite sad that they didn't gived us a straight answer as YES they are married/a couple cuz most of Fluttercord shippers have been waiting so muuuch for the canonization but this finale almost let us with the same idea of their couple that we had since season like 6..
Plus, considering that it was the most teased shipping in the hole serie, I find it sad that they didn't 100% canonize them but they did so for CheesePie (which I'm so happy about btw!) which only had like 2 episodes together I think ...
But from what most of us have interpreted, they do live together AND idk if you have seen but there have been leaked scripts from season 9 a few weeks ago, and in the script of the final episode they were supposed to KISS!!!!
So from that, I get that the writers had the intention to picture them as a canon couple. They didn't do it for some reason, perhaps too explicit for kids idk ... They showed they are a ''couple'' in an other way which is them living together.
I'm kind of okay with that, cuz I don't think that some characters have to kiss to show that they are together, but perhaps a bigger hint would have been nice (kid, rings, soft head to head hug .. idk xD)
But I think, gen 4 was a big start/hint to what their relation will be in gen 5 (If Discord appear there ... plz do ;w

well I would have loved to seen any ship kiss or something, but being that its a little girls show (.... I was bad and watched this when I was 20 and in college, AND continued to watch all 9 seasons after words...now I'm 29 and going to be 30 next year YIKES!) but being that it was left ambiguous there are enough clues and moments to give that canon feel and closer. I know ALOT of dislestia fans are upset(being a fluttercord fan over a dislestia fan, I could have gone either way but more happy with the final canon), and though I did ship AppleDash sometimes, I was surprised it went home with that. Though I am disappointed how tired all the characters looked, and only pinkie had a child compared to all the ponies. I think they were afraid to have mixed babies such as Fluttercord, Sandbar/Yona, or other mixes that they were hinting of couples at the end, cause people would already be shocked of the pairings to show more. Anyway I'm happy how it ended, and hope whatever appears in the movie to come(... there is another movie I think to branch gen 4 to gen 5) I wonder if it be after they grown or between the time. We will find out more hopefully
