Description
And here's the final version!Took a while to tweak it to the point I was pretty satisfied, but I had to endure getting sick earlier this week, and it was very miserable for a while.
Took out the ink outlines in the previous version of the pic, since it was cutting Hope out of her surroundings more than I would have liked. I kept the sketch textures, and just adjusted the opacity a bit, around 45% of the original.
I also added a texture to the rubble and used ripple filters to create some heat haze. I then copied the entire image, and pasted it as a new layer, then added another ripple filter to that. I reduced the opacity of that layer to less than 10% just so that there's a bit of haze for the image.
Pencils with colors on Photoshop CS3 with a Genius G-Pen 450, rock texture from CGTextures.com.
Hope, X-Men, and all related characters tm and (c) Marvel Enterprises.

Actually the purple is still pretty much there, but got toned down with the addition of the rock texture. The purple was actually requested by my 3-year-old niece when she was watching me work- can't really argue against that!
