I was encouraged to try out different styles, having stuck to a manga art style for most of my drawing "career", so to speak. I took the opportunity to try a hand at rendering some of my favorite manga characters from Gunsmith Cats in a more western style. For the most part, I think I was able to catch their more recognizable characteristics, though looking at this piece now, I begin to see more and more of the mistakes I made during the process. I'm particularly dissatisfied with the way Minnie-May turned out. Becky might as well be Oracle, for that matter...
While I still switch rather freely between Western and Asian art influences, I am more drawn to a free-flowing animated look, which my hand is quite comfortable in. I hope to have my more recent stuff uploaded soon, so I could compare the changes in my own development.

I really like what you did with this one. Gunsmith Cats is one of my favorites and I think you did a solid job with the adaptation. Hardly ever seen Becky or Misty in fan art, so it's a treat to see them here. And your Rally looks like a badass, so what more can you ask for.

Big Gunsmith fan...I think May looked pretty good..I can see your Oracle thoughts. I can really relate to you on the difficulty of switching between styles for drawing a pick. I did an fan art pick and it was, very very difficult trying to keep my style and do the characters justice...not sure if I did right. Anyway I wanted to say I really like how you did the layout of the characters good cover layout of everyone...top marks for that.

Thanks! Trying to convey the same characters in a different style was pretty challenging. I'm glad you liked it.
You must be referring to the Gunsmith Cats OAV, unless there's a newer series I'm not aware of. That was pretty good, have to track down a copy over here when I can.
