Description A few tests.  Using HDRI lighting-- no lights in the file, no backdrop.  Should be transparent but I just did screen copies to get it into GIMP.

I do like filmic color mapping a lot.  Thanks SilentLadyGTA .  I just did an AO for fun, which of course is just using material colors that don't really reflect my nodes, and it seems like a good way to get a good cartoony render.  Not to mention that it's fast.

Changing to filmic color mapping and HDRI lighting does suggest color changes, which are not yet complete.  It's one of those things like gamma, where when you start doing it right, everything you did before is a little bit fucked up.

You forgot to say which render engine you are using.

I guess I also forgot to say what I had for breakfast this morning.  If you want to know, why don't you ask?

It seems a bit weird to me that someone of your superior intelligence can be befuddled by something so silly and simple. This was just a very simple, good-natured suggestion from me for you to correct an omission of information. If you don't want to do that, then okay, don't worry, this will not bother me, or make me unhappy in the slightest. You also don't need to reply to me about this, if you don't feel like taking the time to reply to me.

My heart is full of goodwill and good wishes for Nathan Vasily. Blender and MMD can be loads of fun for someone who has the I.Q. to cope with the complexity of Blender. My face is smiling and my eyes are smiling when I think of all of the fun that you can have with Blender and MMD. What I want for you is to be as happy as clam, enjoying this excellent feast of brain candy and eye candy which you can experience from the union of MMD and Blender.

(Hopefully you can also have fun sharing this fun with other people. )

Don't do that to me or I'll block you.  I don't have energy for this shit.

I like her nose. I know this isn't what this post is about, I just noticed it here(?)

Also, those nips could cut diamonds. (They put me on new anti depressants so I'm feeling a bit silly, serry.)

i wonder if mdm will ever support  aos, for now only pmxeditor does for what i've seen. If a game is no ripped already with a 2nd uv layer i know a trick for aos, otherwise no use

Are you talking about using ambient occlusion maps?  You just have to make a shader to use them.  A simple way to do it is to read the ao texture and lerp between black and ambient color on the basis of the AO.  But you could tune it however you'd like.  Check out the code for Excellent Shadow for one way to use ao (not from map, but generated from SSAO).

Edit: don't mix it with ambient color.  If you're doing it with a material with a toon, lerp black into the toon.  And also, for sure, lerp black into any add spheres.  Add spheres is the single biggest place where AO should function.
